Karem Bulut of the Western Sydney Wanderers has been charged with intimidation. Photo: Getty Images Western Sydney Wanderers striker Kerem Bulut has been charged with intimidation following an incident at a McDonald's in Sydney's west. The 23-year-old, who joined the Wanderers this season after four years abroad, was charged after an incident at the Auburn fast food restaurant the night before. McDonald's is also a sponsor of the Western Sydney Wanderers. It is understood Bulut was at McDonald's with a group of friends at 7:30pm on Tuesday when the staff allegedly asked them to leave. The group allegedly told the store manager that they should take the argument outside to the carpark. Police investigated the incident with Bulut presenting himself to Auburn police station at 4pm on Wednesday - only hours before his side was due to play Melbourne City at Parramatta's Pirtek Stadium. He was charged with one count of intimidation and was granted conditional bail. He will appear in Burwood Local Court on April 7. The signing of Bulut was seen as a positive for the Wanderers in a disappointing season. Their 3-2 win over Melbourne City on Wednesday was just the sides second victory in 19 matches so far this A-League campaign. Bulut scored two goals on debut for the Wanderers in their 4-3 loss in the Sydney derby on February 28. Edited by TheSelectFew: 11/3/2015 10:38:15 PM

Getting into trouble with the same old group of mates. Was always a bad idea to bring him back here. At least he turned himself in, not really what the club needed right now though. Media will love this.

Why did they seriously think it was a good idea for him to go back to Sydney???
Back with the same influences that caused the issues in the first place is hardly wise.

Poor guy can't help himself, where there's trouble to be found he sprints towards it. Sadly it may be possible Bulut is a completely drop kick and has no hope of ever being a normal person.

You'd think at 23 he'd have made his mind up about what career he is going to pursue? It's looking a long shot as a professional athlete, I don't think Poppa will be very impressed.

In regards to 'technicalities' etc... it's not 'quite as bad', in the scheme of things? Not trying to apply a 'relative level' to these things though and people bringing up Bulut's bad record are right to, too, and that would come up in the place that counts - in legal terms and court. Putting it another way and even more sadly perhaps, given Bulut's record or record with 'his associates' IIRC (Which a judge warned him about, before?!) - he/WSW are lucky, as 'it perhaps could've been worse'? But that's a low bar to measure and with the very high standards Poppa sets, this indiscretion won't be taken lightly, I'm sure, and nor should it be. It's about discipline on and off the field - we saw how Glory and Lowe responded to Keogh and Risdon (Fines), and expect WSW and Poppa to make some adjustment too. In ti mi da tion I believe it should be called 'Demonstrative' - not cautious or reticent; "unreserved behavior" Never heard of such a silly thing as being charged with intimidation, sounds quite dumb/uneducated

Sydney ia all peados and scumbags. I suppose we 'could' say he's only just returned home and temporarily back-slid/forgotten about the temptations of bad habits - Hopefully this a wake-up call of the negative repercussions of such rendezvous, especially when you are supposed to be a professional athlete too, let alone being a productive citizen and tax-payer. Having a manager like Poppa too - that could be arguably a reason he joined WSW as much as any and if any A-League coach could help steer/keep Bulut on path, then that man may be Poppa? But Poppa and WSW can only do so much and it's up to he and his social agency too. Again, the Judge warned him about hanging around that bunch of mates of his and their negative influence. I think much worse could await, if he fails to heed that warning again. This current charge and scenario sounds like it had the potential to be worse - as often these things do. Which such bravado, escalation is always in the equation and if it does, then comes the additional charges of damage to property, physical assault and worse. In this case it seems, the Maccas staff weren't biting, so in the wash-up it's just 'Intimidation'. So stupid - hard to equate this, this incident and relate it to the same, highly talented player, we see on the field, the one who just scored two goals in the derby. It's just nuts - self-destructive, self-sabotage indeed?! ](*,) highkick05 wrote:In ti mi da tion

hehe The WORSSSSSSSSST place for this behaviour late in the baby boom stages when people were smoking coffee's like it was some kind of new age youth formula was the NBA, and they labelled this behaviour towards referee's as 'Demonstrative'. And players were getting ejected left right and centre and charged under this meaning of the action. It was the worst phenomenon I've seen in any sport, absolutely bat shit fucking crazy. Narcissism & Egocentricism, Self-absorption, Empathy Deficits, 'Entitlement'... I wonder if Bulut took a 'Selfie' at the time? We want it all and want it now. Instant and then throw it away - the cycle is short, things get old even quicker. It's all disposable, in-built entropy. Consume and dispose - Just like Fast Food. Little wonder Fast Food joints are almost the Mecca for such types, to congregate. Lower standard of food, lower standard of behaviour - but now I stereotype. :p Demonstration - the pov of Bulut and co. Intimidation - the pov of the victim/s. The pov of the victims dictates the language in these things. Bulut and his pals may 'demonstrate' quite regularly when they are out in public spaces, their overt masculinity, but for some others that may be 'Intimidation'. Ahh pov, perhaps it's just intimidating entering those joints - the smell of fat and grease, the prospect of all those calories - all that extra weight - the idea you will be hungry again, shortly after and have to feed that growing beast inside of you. And how far do their products travel and what processes do they go through, to produce what's in that wrapper? It's not just intimidating, it's just plain scary, tbh. :p Edited by GloryPerth: 12/3/2015 05:14:40 AM

Bulut needs a very firm hand in a club and constant guidance.
I'm sure Popa is firm.
When at Victory many years ago, Adrian Leijer said Kevin Muscat was always on hand to help young players settle in to the club, like him and Kristian Sarkies off the pitch, visiting them at their flat to check things were going well. Muscat was a positive influence off the pitch as club captain.
Bulut needs a lot of guidance and positive role models, who are older than him. He must be a fool to want to throw his professional football career away. Football can ill afford bad publicity in this country.](*,)
To date, most Aussie pro footballers when met in public, present well. They are very conscious of promoting the sport in a positive light. There are few prima donas.
Other than Tarek Elrich ( supposedly a role model off the pitch) having a brother, former Socceroo, Ahmad, who was involved in a gun incident, and Seb Ryall performing fellatio acts with a minor, I can remember few significant incidents that give bad publicity for football since the inception of the HAL.
Yet Bulut does not seem to be a particularly dirty or spiteful player on the pitch. He must be easily led and impressionable.

Didn;t the Muslim Brotherhood turn on each other and one lot murdered the other. Quote: Gang link sees soccer star Kerem Bulut lose bail

ONE of Australia's brightest soccer stars is part of a gang involved in attempted murder, kidnap, drugs and robberies, police alleged yesterday.
Kerem Bulut, 18, of Berala, who plays for the Young Socceroos, was refused bail in Parramatta Bail Court yesterday, after allegedly breaching a court-imposed curfew.
Bulut, whom police allege is a member of the gang MBM or Muslim Brotherhood Movement, is accused of breaching his bail conditions when he allegedly threatened to "smash" a man in Sydney's south west.
The curfew formed part of strict bail conditions which were set after Bulut was charged with five offences last month, including robbery in company and membership of a criminal group - MBM.
Police allege members of the MBM are involved in serious offences such as robbery, attempted murder and kidnapping. They have also been linked to numerous property and drug supply offences, police say.
Bulut is charged with breaching his curfew - which stipulates he must be at home between the hours of 8pm and 6am or be in the company of a parent - between December 29 at 11.10pm and December 30 at 1.31am.
Police went to his home after being told Bulut had threatened violence against a man in Lidcombe.
"The actions of [Bulut] are directly linked to previous crimes committed by members of MBM which involved the wounding of the same victims as the offences for which the accused is now charged," the court was told.
It's alleged Bulut and three other men were travelling in a black Toyota on Arthur Street in Lidcombe on Wednesday night at about 11.10pm. The victim was in a second vehicle and told police he Bulut staring at him when the cars both stopped at lights.
The victim told police he immediately recognised Bulut "from prior associations and dealings".
Police allegations tendered to the court say the victim asked Bulut how he was doing. Bulut replied: "I'll show you how I'm doing, pull over", and pointed to the side of the road.
The victim asked why he should pull over and Bulut said "I'll show you why, I need to talk to you."
The victim refused and Bulut allegedly yelled "Pull over, I'm going to smash you.".
Police say the car in which Bulut was a passenger followed the victim's car for some time.
The victim reported the incident to police, but when officers went to Bulut's parents house they did not find anyone at the home.
When they returned, Bulut told them he had been at home with his mother all night. His mother, meanwhile, told police she had been with her son at a friend's house in Glenwood, but could not offer a more specific address.
Bulut is awaiting trial on charges he, along with Ahmad Nahle, Rashid Ramadan and Ismail Hadife, all 18 of Auburn, plotted to intimidate two court witnesses.
The victims were to give evidence against the three co-accused in court, were robbed of their mobile phones and wallets at Bondi Beach on November 12.
On November 13, Bulut allegedly again confronted the men outside a nightclub in George St in the inner city
Nahle, Ramadan and Hadife and a 16-year-old boy also allegedly attacked the men with knives in a carpark in Auburn in September. The men suffered serious stab wounds.
Bulut was remanded to appear in Burwood Local Court via audio visual link in January.

Going back to Western Sydney t play was like a reformed alcoholic holding business meetings in a pub.
Why would he do that if he was serious about his football career?
Now to be fair, he might not have been the person making threats to the maccas staff, but the fact that he was there, even by association, doesnt do his name or career prospects any favours at all.
And ganble? I think he is about as bright as his tattoo artist...

Surely its time for a Joffa Poll: What will be Bulut's eventual career trajectory: A. Professional Footballer and Socceroos caps B. Prison C. ISIS
But in all seriousness, those of us on here have been hoping he'd get back to playing good football after sojourn in Europe, and his first few games for the Wanderers reminded us all of his amazing talent and hunger for goals. But after this incident, surely the writing is on the wall that the guy - depsite his talents - is a first class muppet and seems to have learnt nothing.
Lets hope thats not the case, but I wouldnt bet on it.
Reading through his previous court cases and media reports on this latest incident. It says that with this incident he has "conditional bail". I wonder how conditional that is with his past record. Maybe a criminal laywer or cop on these forums can elighten us to likely bail conditions.
