http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/o ... 7267063251 http://www.theaustralian.com.au/subscribe/news/1/index.html?sourceCode=TAWEB_WRE170_a&mode=premium&dest=http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/opinion/afl-seeks-to-make-wada-drugs-code-more-suitable-for-team-sports/story-e6frg7uo-1227267063251&memtype=anonymous "THE AFL is preparing to garner input from all of Australia’s major professional sports as the league seeks to improve the World Anti-Doping Agency drug code to make it a more appropriate policy in dealing with team sports. While the league’s intent is to always be WADA-compliant — and has signed up to the new anti-doping policy that came into effect on January 1 — it feels the code could be better structured to deal with issues that beset professional teams rather than individuals ... A league spokesman said the AFL would always honour the mandatory WADA program but was eager to use the policy’s flexibility to finetune the code to suit the league and all Australian professional team sports ... It is believed the league is not satisfied that the strict, intransigent confidentiality necessarily helps the public understand the policy. As well, there is a risk penalties can be unevenly applied. Given that punishments are set out in stretches of time and not matches, two footballers could be guilty of the same offence but one spend his ban in the off-season and the other could miss a handful of games. The league, not surprisingly, is worried the strict confidentiality that governs positive samples can put people in very awkward positions as well as clouding the process itself.

Where does it say "soccer" in the story? Football isn't even specifically referred, it is "all of Australia’s major professional sports". Click bait thread title for a very broad article.

Pretty confident that across many of the big clubs in Europe (and elsewhere) there is large scale doping going on. Maybe the AFL would like some help teaching their clubs how to not get caught?

ATTN: Mods, yep, every post on here, we’ll lodge a formal complaint.
Not because I’m being anal, but mostly because no one can grasp the concept of the comment “the AFL will consult with other operators of Australian professional team sports”, on stupidity alone, we’ll lodge a complaint against each poster in this thread!

Can't believe that WaMackie hasn't dropped some pearls of wisdom following the AFL tribunal's decision on the Essendon doping allegations.

All jokes aside though, there's a nudist beach right near that SAS base, according to locals it's not unheard of for people to get lost on their way back from the beach and end up stumbling into SAS grounds. It sounds like he was pretty fucked up and just wandered in after heading to the beach.

No one’s raised the possibility that Cousins was let on the SAS site, as they were after the same ‘Goodes’ that Benny takes? He’s on site at 11.15pm on a Saturday night, what else are the SAS boys doing at that time? PlayStation, pawn? Think about it.

The fact he was committed to a mental health rehab clinic straight after this incident seems to suggest that there wasn't anything planned or deliberate about his actions. Cousins had been arrested 3 times in as many weeks, the WA coppers were most likely tailing him when he went onto the SAS site. Most of that 2005-06 team has been in crimnial trouble of late, from what I can read. An ex player almost died in Las Vegas a few years back, that WCE 2005-06 team is dodgy as. I was right, WA Police were tailing him http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/ben-cousins-exeagle-assessed-at-mental-facility-after-sas-base-breach-20150316-144tts.htmlThe Nine Network reported on Sunday night that the ex-AFL star was apprehended at the Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne about 11pm on Saturday. A Defence spokesperson said they were aware of an incident involving a member of the public and WA Police, which occurred at the entrance to Perth's Campbell Barracks on Saturday evening. He hasn’t shown up for Court today either, he’s in strife http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/ben-cousins-faces-arrest-after-noshow-in-perth-court-20150408-1mgd93.htmlBen Cousins has failed to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court over charges relating to a driving incident last month and will be arrested if he can't prove he had a conflicting medical appointment

With regards to the Performance Enhancing Drugs, its a conspiracy by sports betting agencies to tell the anti-doping agency to not follow through with it
Personally, I couldnt care if they all took drugs, its not like this is an Olympic sport we're talking about
Although (!)... why are American athletes twice as fast as the others at the Olympics...
