We know about Klose and his alleged "interest" in joining WSW. Anyone know of any other realistic Marquee targets that are available in the off season, and what clubs they would likely suit?

Tinkler said Peter Crouch, but I'm led to believe his contract status isn't suited to an Australian club getting him for free.
Bresciano and Holman are potentials.

Couple of very unlikely ones but have been released from their contracts and would be insanely fun to watch destroy our defenders would be Hatem Ben Arfa and Stephane Sessegnon.
Pretty sure KJ Huntelaar is off contract, but doubt hes done with Europe yet. Same with Adebayor.
Ryan Taylor (dead ball specialist midfielder/full back) and Jonas (Argentinian international, would be Broich-esque here) from Newcastle United would both be reasonable at the right price.
Drogba and Klose would be great. Podolski would also be a dream.
Most likely will be some blokes we've never heard of but. Like Janko.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Barton to WSW would be a good fit. Not only does he play to the characteristics of the area, but he'd actually bring in some Anglos to the ground too.

Bowden wrote:Hearing Drogba to SFC to replace Janko Drogba has been getting linked to the A-League consistently over the last few years. I think it's one of those rumours without any substance but some Fox Sports journalist thinks "Hey, he's off contract and Sydney need a new marquee..." Would be incredible if it happened, but it'd be a massive surprise. Also, I'm not sure Arnie is that keen on bringing in a big name player.

Yeh but the problem is he looks like a paedophile which would then make him only suited to Sydney FC. Edited by robstazzz: 18/5/2015 10:05:03 PM

I could definitely see bresc here next season. Either mark milligan moves on the victory use the marquee spot to get bresc or melb city get rid of koren and replace with bresc.
Holman could be a good option for aus marquee, could see him being interested in a marquee role in the a league. Newcastle could use him paired with another international marquee would definitely get some crowds back and a lot of buzz.
Berbatov has been linked before, could be more achievable now a days and was still kill it.
Scott MacDonald? Adelaide could use a striker like Scott macdonald. Do they use their aus marquee spot?
Would jason Davidson be interested in a loan move to an a league club? It worked wonders for troisi and his socceroos career has really fired up.

I said earlier I think hed be very Broich-esque here and I stand by it. Savy enough that he'll cause bulk dramas on the wing. On his day is pure class. I think he'll either get a run with a low PL team or head back to Argentina but.

On that note do you think Kilkenney would come back to Aust? could be at a similar level to Valari , would suit the Jets or CCM or even WSW to replace La rocca? (not as marquee though.. Also Wilkshire is probably a decent RB that a Few clubs might try to pick up. WSW or Victory or CCM

I once had a dream where Zlatan played at Sydney. I had to strip the bed, throw away the sheets and go buy new linen the next day.
