You're totally right. Shanghai Shenhua tried to buy him for $1m six months into that two year deal in Janurary this year and they said no, so yeah, he's staying.

I'm led to believe Nathan Burns has an existing contract with Wellington which ends at the end of 15/16. So a mutual termination would have to be met if he were to play at a different HAL club next season.

I'd be happy to give him marquee wages two years ago. Hopefully he'll sign for one of the Melbourne clubs on minimum chips as a last hurrah, but after seeing how Heart/City treated his buddy Grella they might have scared him off.

Jovanovic I'd take under the cap if we don't end up keeping Georgievski, otherwise we're golden with Delpierre, and Ansell has more than earned a starting spot. Hopefully he'll also be starting in Rio.


Davidson is a Melbourne boy but will surely want to stay in Europe at this point, most likely ditto for Melbourne product Troisi. Boz and Daz are good suggestions, but we're set in central attack mids, but some more finishers wouldn't hurt.

I'd be happy to see Burns get the Aussie Marquee spot, in the undesirable situation of the best Australian player in the A-League choosing to vacate it. Probably still have room under the cap for Maclaren.

yeah not a marquee , deff under the cap. i imagine holland has a bit of an ego so i can't see him coming back to the aleague unless it is for one of the "big clubs". he is still in contention for a for squad position in the roos so he might consider a move like this to be playing in front of Ange week in week out.

and he is better than Brox..

atm there has to be a certain appeal for fringe socceroos to play for mv. Given Ange is in Melbourne and the team is strong. Also given anges A-league is good enough policy.

Valeri, Broxham are better, and we'll still have Mahazi as cover. I'd happily take him under the cap, if we couldn't get Celeski back.

I hope we use our Australian Marquee position in a different area, if it becomes vacant. Burns hasn't re-signed for the Nix yet, has he? Maybe Troisi is ready to come home?

Franic is also a deece option, especially if we don't end up retaining Georgevski, given that he'd be keen to keep living at home in Melbourne.

If milligan heads to Oil league. Would victory go after Holland. James Holland has had a good few seasons in austria after almost stalling in Holland, stilll a good age 26 but not sure hell get another contract in europe. Could be a good replacement, like for like, although not at milligans level but probably equivilant to milligan at 26. Off contract this off season
