salmonfc wrote:Decent numbers from AU, but the club should do more to advertise memberships. Some ads in the paper, on TV, whatever. Would love to see them break 10,000.
Having said that, I won't be able to get a membership because I'm saving up for several things, including but not limited to a PS4 and a m80 banner. Don't they have something where you can pay off your membership throughout the year? Victory has a thing called Auto12, they just debit a portion out of your bank account once a month (like $17 for me) and it just rolls around each season, it's awesome. M80 banner worth every penny, however.

grazorblade wrote:Do we have numbers for this time last year? This time last year we sat like this: Quote:Adelaide United: 4,800 Brisbane Roar: 9,087 Central Coast Mariners: 3,100 Melbourne City: 6,559 Melbourne Victory: 13,327 Newcastle Jets: 6,165 Perth Glory : 3,800 Sydney FC: 7,927 Wellington Phoenix: 1,000 Western Sydney Wanderer: 12,011
Total = 67,776 Now bear in mind that WSW and Victory this stage last year still had to receive their boost. This year they are already almost reaching their caps. So although we're tracking at a similar total, expect us to really slow down in the weeks to come. We'll be lucky to reach 85k by round 1 of the season. 12k short from last rd 1 last season. The total thread count was already up to 26 pages too, which tells you there is less discussion on the subject this upcoming season. Is it a sign of how less excited people are? The level of expectation for the upcoming season is certainly lower. Seriously don't know how the FFA can expect to reach 130k (their target). Edited by Davo1985: 13/8/2015 06:27:31 PM

It's pretty evident that Brisbane Roar supporters are holding off on renewals, even so 3,300 isn't bad considering the threat of a winding-up order and the total disbelief in anything first Dobson and now Chris Fong say. How much Roars numbers accelerate after Fong goes depends on whether the club goes in to FFA hands (which would suggest a season of stagnation) or a sale to a new owner. Even a new owner may not be enough to accelerate membership, if the infamous pizza boys get their hands back on the Roar again many may conclude we're stuck in "Groundhog Day" and wait and see. Fair to say a decent owner with vision should see Roar exceed 10,000 members sspdvislly when the 4 and 7 game packs go on sale which are very popular. Overall for the HAL it's hard to predict, about 20,000 of last seasons memberships were sold after the seasons start so if ghd patterns repeated they'll need to crack 100k in members before day 1 if they're to reach the target.

When is the Parramatta Stadium extension completed? What will be the max members that WSW can get afterwards?

The $29m, 4,000 seat upgrade has been held back pending a decision from the NSW Government on how it is going to spend $600m on stadium upgrades in Sydney. That decision is expected soon and most of the articles are now saying that a $350m, 35k replacement of Pirtek Stadium is the likely outcome. If that is the case we won't see it until 2019.

Maybe, it'll be a year in the planning (that's the end of 2016 already) and then 3-5 years to build assuming no planning delays. It's long overdue but I would like to see Wanderers play a couple of games at ANZ

If you look at the UEFA stadium document they mention 54 months from start of planning to first kick off. Of that 24 months is construction and 3 months commissioning.

Wasn't questioning you more the NSWs Governmemts timelines. Seems they're already six months behind on making the decision alone :)

Also saw this great initiative that the Mariners are doing for all juniors. Basically it's a $15 membership for all players up to 16yo and entitles you to entry to all 13 Home Games. But the sweet deal is that $5 of the $15 goes straight back to the local club that the player plays at. A great initiative from the Mariners there. Might be partly the reason we saw such an influx at the last FFA cup match. With a new CEO, will be interesting to see how they go with crowds this year. I was told that there was going to be a really strong emphasis on community engagement like the "good old days". All the best to them. http://www.memberships.ccmariners.com.au/2015-16-Packages/Mariners-MyClub

so far i am not too impressed with Adelaide United, Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC, was expecting more from those 3, i know sydney fc are 3rd but they should have at least 10,000 members, hopefully membership numbers will pick up for almost everyone though because they have been underwhelming so far

Also the size of our stadium reduces the incentive for people to get in quick (there's no cap like with WSW at Parra or MV at Swan St). Pignata says we'll hit 13k - if not we'll defintely come close and beat last year's record. I agree though that across the board it's been disappointing. Only MV and (especially, considering their last season) WSW are doing really well. Edited by JP: 20/8/2015 12:30:32 AM
