Can't find anything else to backup how he is eligible as French but hopefully he's got or is able to get a passport. Transfermarkt is usually on the money with this stuff.

Would be a fantastic move if it came off, he'd be hooking up with Rafa Jimenez who is the same age, 19. Imagine if they both made the first team together.

What makes the move more plausible is that Clut would already have some Spanish exposure for their scouts to refer to in that he made the finals of the Nike The Chance finals recently that were held in Barcelona.

not surprised at all, since coming in mid season for the roar as a regular he has secured the AM position easily, is a proven goal threat from mid field, and can pick a pass. Also proved him self at ACL level. I'd prefer if roar kept him for the season but if he gets an offer like this he would have to take it.

(mind you, if last nights performance fairly represents Villa Reals tactical style, might not be the club for him ?)

Would be able to focus on football moving to a town with 50000 people. Good facilities though.

A 'mate' of mine was behind the scenes after the game tonight and said there was quite a number of questions coming from the Villarreal coaching staff directed to the Roar staff (via translator) concerning Devante Clut - some of the questions were about how long he's been training with the senior team, injury history and how he did this season. I can only assume they will consult their scouts about him when they arrive back in Spain. Doubt they would pay a transfer fee for him without a trial, so I am making an educated guess that they would inquire about trialing him in the off-season.

From memory, La Liga sides are allowed 6 non-european players but only 4 on the pitch at one time. Joel Campbell's loan is now over which opens up at least one of those slots. However, I also have a sketchy memory of being told Devante has a french passport anyways (can someone confirm?).

Obviously don't know the full reasons behind the questions so at the moment this is just conjecture but I would not be at all surprised if this develops into something.
