Although it was under 23 vs under 21s a lot of this team contain 20 and 21 year olds and a couple of 19 year olds, given the match was played in Turkey away, great result they are building nicely for the AFC under 23s.
Football Central on Twitter have stats of the game:
Possession 45% AUS 55% Turkey
Shots: 8 AUS 21 TUR
But regardless of this, results do become more important at this age group.
Very encouraging.

This is my assumed line-up based on that. Duncan Geria - Donachie - Degenek - Smith Brillante (c) Hoole - Amini Edwards - McLaren - Borello

Interesting Stats. Looks like we were outplayed by a fairly younger Turkey side. Even so, great result, wish we had highlights. Some of those Turkish lads are already at decent European Level clubs Edited by jonomv: 5/9/2015 01:02:48 PM

Here's the full USA match. 1-0: 1:04:34 1-1: 1:28:50 Such a disappointing goal to concede. Edited by playmaker11: 5/9/2015 07:33:38 PM
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

its strange I saw the USA under 17s play us last year and they blew me away with how much more technical they were compared to the current senior team. But watching them play us now its like a completely different team, they're pretty much playing to there stereotype. Physical, athletic with speed playing on the counter attack. Our players first touch and ability on the ball is undeniably good, the same problems still exist from our world cup campaign in that we make bad decisions in the final third and in the center of the park.

Watched the replay, again some impressive things the under 17s did.
Already looked to be a team that can control the game, the negatives was the ability to make the wrong passing options(not enough supporting options when playing out) when playing into the USA defence and resulting turning over the ball in dangerous areas, they need to be more patient and be able to move more of the ball.
They are playing a different kind of 4-3-3, playing with one No.6 it's becomes a big responsibility of the two No.10s ahead to become better supporting options, high risk football but understanding and execution becomes very important in this system.
And maybe it would like them to play with a bit of width in the final third when trying to have a better cutting edge in the final third, often their attacks become too narrow i would've liked to see one of the wingers stay wide when working ball into the final third.
But all in all quite impressive with the level of high technical ability given they were up against a more stronger and well organised USA team, although they didn't show enough of their football ability unlike the Joeys. =d>
I thought this game the No.11 looked very classy on the wing as well as the No.13 and No.10 in midfield.

Edited by playmaker11: 5/9/2015 07:33:38 PM Thank you for finding the game. I managed to watch it all last night and i must say it was the clearest illustration that i have seen that our football education process is working. This was not a game against physically inferior and underfunded Asian opposition but a true challenge against a populous , wealthy, emerging football nation. The national curriculum was committed to with total adherence and no compromise was given to obtain a result. We controlled the ball, the pace of the game, we had technically superior players, we had more creative players and we could almost defend. The USA played like old Australia and we played the way you always wished we could. Bravo

It should be a top game against a very strong and technical French side, a good guide on how we can expect to go in World Cup

Infact would it be near finished by now? :?

 Woah Quote:"Si vous nous rejoignez, vous ne rêvez pas, la France mène 4-0 à la mi-temps de ce match."
