Ahh ok that would make sense. There’s no way he gets looked at for U23s but not the U20s lol.
Ty for the insight. Would be great if we new that Arnie squad...

@Pala
Yup it definitely happened - Arnie even referenced it at the recent Socceroos press conference in Brisbane when they announced the South Korea friendly.
From memory it was something like ‘I just came from the Olyroos camp we held in Canberra and I was so impressed with the quality of the kids coming through’.

Is there any news on when the Joeys squad gets announced for the u-16 championships coming later this month?
I’ve seen the Japan u-16 have announced the squad and preparation schedule where they will have 8 days together along with 2 games prior to the first game, it’s no wonder they doing well at this level.
Contrast to the Joeys apparently they played 2 practice games against Melb City and Victory winning both matches 5-2 and 7-4 respectively.

+xInteresting no savas, the other Hammond or warland as well as others. Hopefully thats a sign that what we have domestically is better/just as good as what we have overseas.

can you indefinitely prove that they are better? based on what evidence? It's not like we've seen these guys domestic and overseas play week in week out. So no-one can really say anything until they begin playing

+xSeen them play many times at youth level. this group of guys have played collectively together max 10 times. unless you personally follow these guys around from venue to venue, there is no way that you can just assume some of those guys are better than the guys you've never seen play before?

Individually they are better. how else do you think they are first chosen?
They record these players and break the games down.

+xIndividually they are better. how else do you think they are first chosen? They record these players and break the games down. Omg. yes they might be good. and yes the coaches have identified that. But other players come out of the blue and show they are good enough. Thats football, I find it encouraging when former players are left out, because it shows there is either a better option, or that there are plenty more guys coming through pushing these guys out of the squad. And hopefully that lifts the guys left-out, to prove the coaches wrong. For all we know they're probably injured.

Indefinitely -which can also mean "to an unlimited or unspecified degree or extent" still makes sense in that context. proving something to an extent. such as, the development of footballers over an indefinite period.

Hopefully they can get players like Robertson(get him back from England) and Warland etc for the WC, if they make it.

just some interesting facts from the group of guys hoping to qualify us for the U17 WC.
Joshua Benson scored 51 goals this season for Newcastle Jets U15's Timothy Boke played the majority of the season for Belconnen U20's Jordan Bos made 7 apps for Melb.City's firsts whilst scoring 4 times for the U20's in 10 apps Noah Botic scored 18 goals in 20 apps for Rockdale U18's. Runner up leading goal scorer for the league Jordan Courtney made 9 apps for Brisbane Roars NPL Firsts, scoring in his first game as a 15 year old. Luke Duzel played 24 games (that might be all games) for Melb City youth firsts this NPL season. Jayden Gorman was leading goal scorer for WA NPL U18's with 29 in 17 apps Oliver Kalac made 4 apps for the WSW U20's squad Birkan Kirdar, obviously already made his Melb. Victory debut in the ACL, he scored 6 in 16 apps this NPL season. Jaiden Kucharski played the majority of the season for Sydney FC U18's scoring once, whilst playing for the 16's 9 times scoring 3 as a DM Thomas Lambiris played all season in the Melb City U18's, scoring once. Adam Leombruno played 17 games for SA NTC in the SA NPL U18's comp. He played a couple games for Adelaide United, but moved back to the NTC team for finals. Adam Pavlesic played the majority of the season with Sydney FC U18's whilst also playing 9 games for the U16's and 2 games for the U20's. Alex Popovic scored two goals for Adelaide United U20's. Joseph Roddy played the majority of the season for SFC's U16's scoring 7 times in 19 apps, whilst making 3 U18's apps. Lachlan Sepping made One appearance for the Marconi first team in NPL1 as a 15 year old. Kerrin Stokes made 5 first team appearances for Croydon Kings in the NPLSA Ahmad Taleb played the majority of games for City's U20's whilst also playing for their U18's and 3 times for the firsts. Ryan Teague played 20 times for SFC U20's scoring once Joshua Varga made 7 senior apps for City Daniel Walsh played 17 times in Glory's seniors this NPL season Adam Zervas played 20 times for Newcastles Under 15's scoring 9 times, also making 5 apps in the U16's squad who play in the U18's comp.
There are a lot of boys who have already played senior NPL football already at age 15, 16. which is a very encouraging sign for the future. Again, not too sure how helpful playing in that environment is for development, but at least they are tactically aware and somewhat used to contact.
