It leads to them passing it around the back four and not creating many chances at all. A bit harsh after 5mins. Run their legs off first, also have to drag them out Not just talking about this game. Haven't seem many games lately. UAE are panicking in their own half under pressure though.

We don't have a single striker in the youth set up that will consistently be a threat in front of goal.
We have an abundance of talent in midfield, Some in defence and absolutely zilch up top.

Amini Antonis - O'Neill Mauk - Taggart - Borrello Still really quite surprised that a lot of these guys aren't starting. e.g. Socceroos Asian Cup XI was pretty much consistent, with players here and there being swapped out when necessary. Not sure I'm a fan of this 'two average sides' strategy.

Decent Strikers for lower league sides in Europe perhaps. But you can't rely on any of them to be consistent at National Team level. Say we are down 2-0 in the second half in a game. With someone like Cahill who will always have a chance to be a threat even if he is having a poor game, but there is no player coming through the youth system that can have that impact or we could rely on to score goals. Looking decent without doing much to create chances from what I have seen, which has not been all of the half by a long way

They've only had a week together and no friendlies. The masterclass in not creating chances is understandable.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

But we will be in big big trouble in the coming years if we can't produce a striker who will atleast be a consistent threat. We can't rely on Cahill anymore.

Pain doesn't have 1 trick in his bag. For a forward, that is completely useless, 1 man wasted on the pitch, might as well play 10.
