+x+x+xOn that same token when does the joeys squad get announced for their world cup qualifiers next week? Nothing been mentioned from the FFA. boys are on there way atm. Not sure why the ffa hasn't announced the squad yet? Is it the same squad from the AFF Cup or its been changed? Apparently anyone that knows cant say until the ffa officially announce the squad which is fair enough.

+xsome unbelievable players on that list. hopefully they can all gel together and get us to another world cup. with you on both points. they have been together for almost two weeks now. played a match against a ACT NPL team the other day won 6-4 and have a scratch match coming soon. hopefully with all the training and two matches, the lads will be well gelled. shouldnt be an issue with only a handful of them are new so everyone has already played together at AFF.

Good luck to the squad of the players selected, i like the look of the list interesting that 4 players come from WSW and none from sydney FC which probably tells about the two academies in sydney...
Anyway they have a not easy group with tricky Vietnam whom we faced in the AFF Cup and of course the tough Japan, then if we get through that we face a another tough GF game to get to the world cup. I was quite impressed with their tech. quality whom i feel are more advanced than most senior aussie players running around in the a-league but they won't very good defensively if they can solve that problem then they have a great chance to quality and perhaps win the whole tournament.

It's probably the toughest group we've ever had at one of these tournaments. Vietnam have beaten us the vast majority of terms we've played them at this level, and Japan are always a quality side.
They'll have to play well from the start to even have a chance of the WC, can't go in like at the AFF and ease our way into the tournament.
Don't think these squads will reflect the quality of the academies for some time yet. Still mostly COE and the academies are in their infancy. Another 5 years might tell a different story.

Will the u19 AFF Cup be on youtube also? I haven't found anything showing any games or highlights of the latest matches yet.
Promising from the joeys, but the real test starts next week.

So FFA has just announced that Optus will be streaming every Australian match of the AFF Tournament live - sourceThat is a pretty big step for Optus - clearly they want to corner the football market in this country with a move such as this.
