I really liked Brandon Wilson in this match. Bosses the midfield whenever the ball was near him.

Oh and also Popovic continued to impress me. Shame he was being played on the wing as he’s clearly a #9.

+xDa Silva, Izzo and Cowburn stood out for me. Thought we were abit slow to react from what I saw in the second half which apparently was chalk and cheese with the first half I thought Cowburn was quite poor in possession tbh. Some pretty awkward touches got him in to avoidable situations if i remember correctly.

Our foreign based players never seem to impress in our junior teams, not sure why

Is there any reason why our median age is 20 for an under 23 tournament? Are out younger players just better or is there another reason behind it?

The better OS players said no to the comp because it a Mickey Mouse Cup. They are older.

Only 1997 born players are eligible for the Olympics.
3/4 of the current squad will not be eligible.

Chris Ikonomidis, Brandon Borello, Awer Mabil, Cameron Burgess, and Jordan Lyden
The thing is we could play Suzuki Cup against men's teams, at their actual grounds. Playing infront of no fans in China in the cold isn't really Socceroos preparation.
Playing in front of away fans in hot conditions with shit pitches is much better.

@scotchncoke
I'll have to have another look. It was some of his passing and through balls that caught my attention.

I think most of the OS players that aren't playing regularly are there. the ones that are playing (Borrello Mabil etc) their clubs would have said no which they are entitled to do of course since its outside FIFA windows.

Can we have Garrucio and Izzo back then? Clubs should be taking some positives from this competition and their players going. I've no doubt there are a lot of teams with scouts watching, these national underage games are putting your players in the shop window potentially earning you a decent return on investment

Why not just invest in stock rather than watch football if you don't care about actually ever seeing a product other than when you sell it?

Exactly. Also, if it was a fifa date (and the FFA followed them) I would be less annoyed. This tournament is going to leave Adelaide trying to cling to 4th and most likely be 6th by the end of it instead of pushing for 3rd/securing a home final. Also, eho knows what condition the players will return in. Everyone seems 100% comfortable with an o/s club asking players not to leave or those players refusing to go. That's all my point was. The A-League might be micky mouse to some people but I still want my team to do well and pay stupid money to watch them.

I quite like Hrustic when he came on. He didn't set the world alight and had a couple of poor touches but he looked a class above a lot of the players with the amount of time and space he seemed to have on the ball.
I was disappointed with Mauk in the second half as well. He really didn't seem to provide a lot and gave up the ball cheaply on a few occasions.

The Solomon Islands national U-12 side. Photo: FFA A string of impressive performances by the Solomon Islands national U-12 futsal boys led them to claim the 2018 FFA National Futsal Championship title in Canberra, Australia. The local boys defeated the New South Wales Thunder 6-5 in their category’s grand final this morning. They defeated the mighty Queensland Metro 6-1 in their semi-final last night at the AIS Arena after winning all of their pool games this week. This is the third time for Solomon Islands’ U-12 side to win the title. The country’s U-14 futsal team is in the second spot after losing 4-1 to the New South Wales Thunder in the semi-final yesterday. Parents and supporters expect the teams to be back in the country next week. Solomons clinches Australian U-12 futsal title | SIBC

I still think O'Neill is being saved for Korea. Susnjar appears very tidy. Tongyik has such a massive frame. I just hope these players can keep developing.
