I just hate how bad we look at youth level. What gives? Are we so poorly educated that we just can't do anything? Would more time as a team help? Likely but even Folami and Pasquali look bad despite their decent European training.

Folamis cross for the goal and the keeper were the only highlights. The lack of players with senior experience is telling. We just have youth players out there and it shows

Jordan should've scored at least 3 goals today, we were rubbish. Although, if it's true that there's a viral bug within the camp, then that needs to be taken into consideration, especially given the weather conditions.

I though Ouzanidis was immense this match, won everything in the air and made some crucial last-ditch tackles.

At the end of the day, this group of players and coach managed to do what the last two u19's couldn't do, which is get out of the group - it's been 6 years since we last made it to the Quarter Finals

Try and play with sickness and be able to physically compete against a much stronger, fitter side and see how you would try.

The boys looked gassed from the second half from what i saw, i feel sorry for them that they have to go through the struggle on the field but keyboard warriors would know better eh? 

At we made the quarters, it shows the character of the group to go through the adversity sometimes football is secondary when your physcally sick out there, huge credit to them now they need to be ready for another physical showdown against the Saudi's.

Yes of course it's an u19 tournament, but you look at Korea, Japan and the teams that consistently do well and they have players getting regular game time in their national league. We don't. Atkinson would be the only player in the entire squad who gets any senior game time. And really, it's not good enough. Our best 18 year olds should be getting gametime somewhere

How many of these boys have been playing football recently? The NPL ended almost a month and a half ago, the only boys playing regularly are the overseas ones but even they struggled physically out there.

Have to question the preparation and how many games the lads have played recently.

At least Thurgate looked very solid in that regard, sounds like the Jets have prepared him well in the off season.

Well that shouldn't happen in any case. Are we not providing these boys with a professional set up, clean water, food prep areas etc? Other countries don't seem to have these problems.
Of course playing ill is never easy. Without any commentary who's to know these things?
Fact is we were outplayed in all three games. Results are good but performance is equally important. 

Well they have there own chef but the sickness needs to be investigated as to why they getting the bug.

I would say we did not get outplayed in the first two games, but against Jordan it was not a contest for most of it but it wasnt even on the same level in a physical level sense and thats pretty hard regardless of what players you have.

If you cant compete player for player in a football match, you have no hope to perform at your best.

Wow, from the sounds of it, we did very well to survive that scare, given that off-field context contributing to the context on it. Hopefully most in the squad are atleast close to recovered and may be a bit mentally stronger, more prepared the next test, given this scare. It sounds like the young defender from Everton put in a good performance and the keeper followed up too. That's promising too, as there's demand in our talent pool for some more highly talented centre backs to be pushing through. Hopefully lads like he see some senior football through loan moves this season and next and then perhaps they can push for a place with the Olyroos in 2020.
