Personally I think the next Joeys groups is a bit weaker based on the results, they lost to Malaysia u15 side last year.

But there is some interesting individual talent already with Mo Toure, Oliveria, Segicic, Lopane and Rawlins who was with the last joeys squad in the World Cup.

Im sure Trevor Morgan will try and find more players that got that quality needed.

It must be hard to pick a national u15s team.

Surely the younger you go the more players are in contention.

Then picking a team that works well together.

Do managers pick the best players, players to suit their style or favorites/tips from contacts?

Not sure but I would say its harder as the talent pool would quite given large to choose as their are players in the a-league academies, NPL and overseas.

There is also an element that players development fluctuates at u15 level, so its harder to find players that are consistent at that level.

A goal from Slovenia-based Australian Luka Prso helped lift the Young Socceroos to a 1-0 win over FC Utrecht U-19 in the Netherlands on Tuesday.

Prso, who plays his club football for NK Olimpija Ljubljana, scored in the 35th minute of the contest after skipping past the Utrecht defence.

Leeds United custodian Cooper Skerry and Joeys FIFA U-17 World Cup goalkeeper Adam Pavlesic, who plays at Sydney FC, both played 45 minutes in the match, with each making some important saves to ensure the clean sheet.

The Young Socceroos selection are in Holland for a talent identification camp, with twenty-two players from Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom brought together to show their abilities to Head Coach Gary van Egmond.

Games against AFC Ajax Amsterdam U-19 (22 February) and FC Twente U-19 (25 February) will be played over the coming days, and provide more chances for players to impress van Egmond as a big year for Australia’s U-19 men’s national team kicks off.

The AFF U-19 Championship will be held in Indonesia mid-year, followed by the AFC U-19 Championship in Uzbekistan in October.

Ajax u19s side beat the Young Socceroos 4-0.

It was 1-0 at HT before Ajax outplayed them in the second half.

Alexander Robertson, the topic of many a World Game article, is playing with the Joeys in Holland. A better than slim chance his allegiance may turn to Australia. Will be interesting to see how he stacks up with the other prospects in the camp.

Given the usual meltdown when TWG faps over Robertson it's odd that such a meaningful advancement has gone unacknowledged.

Will indeed be good to see how he stacks up on an individual level.

Along with Robertson, I believe Murray Miller (Rangers) and Joel Anich (ex Brisbane Strikers, current club unknown) have been called into camp

Apparently a number of long range screamers from these two.

I really don't get why Brook doesn't get more gametime in a fairly stagnant Adelaide side.

Brook is a talent, I remembered him from the earlier Joeys squads, looked liked a gifted No.10 who has a strong left foot too.

Surprised he hasn't been given a proper chance at Adelaide.

Australia looks to have won the race to tie down Zak Gilsenan - the Perth-born teenager once dubbed the “Irish Messi”.

The budding Blackburn Rovers No.10 - who arrived at the Championship club via Barcelona and Liverpool - is eligible for Ireland through his parents, and also England. At just 16, he’s already made five appearances for Rovers’ U-23s this season - just a step away from Tony Mowbray’s first team.

Good stuff, will hold off the party poppers until more credible sources than TWG report on him, of course.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today welcomed news that a recommendation has been made to retain the original eligibility dates for the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The recommendation was made by the FIFA-Confederations working group, which was recently established by the Bureau of the FIFA Council to address the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

FFA has been vocal in its view that the Men’s Olympic Football Tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games should shift to an under 24 format since it was confirmed that Tokyo 2020 will be held in 2021 due to the effects of COVID-19.

While the recommendation still needs to be ratified by FIFA, the endorsement by the FIFA-Confederations working group highlights their understanding of the will of participating member associations to keep the Olympic dreams of players born on or after 01.01.1997 alive.

All but McGree should stay banned. The others were not available for the Olympics and that the way it should stay.

Cameron Peupion who is at Sydney FC youth team and has played for the Joeys at the World Cup last year is very close to signing with Brighton Albion.

Like Ryan Teague he will get sold overseas, sounds like Sydney FC's academy is starting to bear fruit.

Hes an exciting prospect too, like Teague part of a new generation of players coming through the Sydney FC academy.

Also the likes of Tilio, Ivanovic, Hollman, Fay, Nieuwenhof, Kucharski, Mlinaric are also worth keeping an eye on.
