+xI find it quite the investment that a lot of Australian based players are going to a European camp for the Olyroos. A good example of how Football Australia under JJ is planning the future.

I can't remember a time there's been so much activity. U20 just done and what a shame they've missed out for a world cup in May June. I wonder if a camp if even worth it on home soil?
Australia’s Under-23 team gather in Europe for a training camp during the FIFA men’s international window between March 20-28, where they will meet the Switzerland U21 side and Cesc Fabregas’ Serie B outfit Como in Varese in Northern Italy.
This is a great opportunity. It's almost overwhelming tracking all of our players and checking who is eligible for which squad. Some can advance up the Roos while also being eligible for lower ages.
The Joeys have the Asian Cup in Thailand in June yet to be drawn.

Olyroos Head Coach Tony Vidmar has been forced to make a further change to the 24-man squad for this week’s U-23 men’s national team training camp in Italy, with Patrick Yazbek withdrawing due to injury.

+x+xVidmar reportedly having meetings with Circati and Volpato. Source? Struggling to find it from the horses mouth but some online chatter that Arnold said it himself. Reportedly. They're in the same country but I'd think Vidmar would be much more focused on his 23 there.

Yes I think he did as well in an interview with Victoria Slater, daughter of Bad boy Robbie.

Awesome, thanks guys. I remember Arnie saying he would be doing the rounds to meet them in person later this year when he returns to Europe, but great to hear that these conversations can happen sooner with Vidmar already in Italy.

Switzerland lead very early. Trewin I think heads it down and back and it's nudged on for a strike to go across Cook into goal. Reminder this is the Switzerland U20 while we're an U23 outfit.
The 4 names in defence play A League but don't give me too much confidence.

Alou just out of it. Hasn't been in either Stuttgart squad since Australia day. Wedged between. Should have gotten a loan to Liga 3.

Had Switzerland not scored you might say it was fairly level. Remember the first half NZ away? Tonnes worse than that.

1:0 to Switzerland it ends. Hope the lack of time together as a group is the reason because that was absolutely terrible. Zero cohesion and no evidence of any system or tactical plan.

Yeah Swap the wingers around Peupion doing his best Grealish hairstyle with nothing to show for it on the pitch and Italiano almost looks overweight. Bench players didn't do much either. It was such a disappointment to a good day for the shirt.

Clearly an issue with the younger teams but is tgat a function of not participating in junior tournaments for the past few years? Also, not being able to adapt outside of the club approach? I hope Nieuwenhof was at least half-decent.

I hope Nieuwenhof was at least half-decent. Nieuwenhof showed probably less than 10% of his current form. It was just so lacklustre. Like they'd just gotten off the plane. It was basically going through the motions with no vigour to score and very little movement or creativity. I hope the next game is better.

With the depth of talent we now have, it would be a disastrous lost opportunity for us not to make the olympics next year. I hope we play a lot better next game.
