The spaces between our lines are enormous

Need to be more compact. We have conceded two big chances

Their number 7 is giving us all sorts of trouble. 

I know its hot and an ardous tour but we have been really poor at tracking back. A minute after a thai counter attack some of our players are still walking back to defend

Whether in attack or defence we keep getting outnumbered in transition

So much distance between our defenders and attackers so we are forced to go long

A mishit clearance and tatu drives the ball to the biline, takes a player on, the cut back is to macnicol who druves home from 25 yards out 1-1

Good individual play but the team structure is so sloppy, need to tighten up

The midblock has been really effectuve and thailand havent yet played through our lines since we made the switch

Our right back Malual Nichola with one of the worst individual performances in a half of football that I’ve ever seen. He was so consistently panicky on the ball that the commentators were laughing every time someone passed to him lol.

Tatu is a cut above the rest. Really looks like such a complete player, even more so than Irankunda from a technical standpoint.

Our GK Ajanovic has been fantastic and it’s thanks to him (and poor finishing) we haven’t conceded 3-4 goals.

Shoutout to Quinn Macnicol who had a quiet half but finished with an absolute screamer to equalise just before the break. He can thank Tatu for the assist. 

Did the fullback that made that mistake get hooked? Couldnt see him late in the half

Nah he saw out the half. He looked so nervous from the first minute, hesitant in all of his actions. Hopefully a good learning experience for the lad.

Epic pen shootout

Congrats asean champs!

Australia win the title 8:7 on pens. Well in lads.

We win!!! A fantastic result, it’s been ages since one of our underage teams have won silverware.

Our GK Ajanovic did really well in the shootout saving 2 pens.

Maybe we were gassed but we really had to rely on our individual quality there because there was serious problems with our team work

The space between players was huge, so we often had to try a difficult pass to keep posession. We also were sluggish trackibg back and kept getting outnumbered. We also were sluggish supporting the attack in a counter attack and got outnumbered

Both teams missed some easy chances. The hand ball looked unclear to me and the goal we gave away was a gift. Hopefully that fullback improves and it becomes a distant memory

meanwhile, as soon as macnicol stepped up I was like "oh gosh don't give the ball to him, the best player always misses"

it is a remarkable trend that your best player is probably useless in a penalty shootout haha
