Robbo wrote:Thats two losses in a row for the olyroos. Young socceroos lost to Japan as did the socceroos to Jordan in the past week. Let's hope the joeys win next week because we need something to get positive about.
I really hope Luke casserly as national performance manager is taking note and planning for the future. To my knowledge he has made no changes to any of the personal or structures since being in the role. The current setup is Han Berger brainchild, so maybe we need to evaluate what's happening.
Edited by robbo: 10/10/2015 06:57:53 AM Well given the teams the Joeys will face i doubt it, in regards to Casserly i agree he's job will be up for scrutiny if the Olyroos fail to qualify for the Olympics next year. What has been doing who knows....

Great news, with SBS confirming they will be broadcasting at least all three group matches involving our boys at the U17 World Cup - if by some miracle we get through to the next round then I'd hope they would show those also. Quote:Joeys' FIFA U-17 World Cup journey to be broadcast on SBS
SBS will broadcast all three of the Joeys’ group stage games in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile.
All three games against Germany, Mexico, and Argentina will be broadcast live and in full high-definition on SBS.
Joeys and FFA Centre of Excellence technical director Peter de Roo said it was fantastic to know the Australian public will have a chance to see the next generation in action.
“We’ve been working really hard on implementing an exciting Australian brand of football,” de Roo said.
“We’re hoping Australia will get behind us and support us as we take on the world’s best.”
Australia kicks off its campaign against Germany on Monday, 19 October at 6.00am [AEDT], before taking on Mexico on Thursday, 22 October at 7.00am, and wrapping up its group games against Sunday, 25 October at 9.00am.
A top-two finish will see the Joeys automatically progress to the Round of 16, while a third-placed finish in its group will leave Australia with a nervous wait to see if it is one of top four third-placed teams, who will also qualify.
In addition to broadcasting all of Australia’s games, SBS will also broadcast both Semi-Finals of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile on Friday, 6 November.
It will also show the final live and in high-definition on Monday, October 9. MATCH DETAILS
Monday, 19 October Australia v Germany Coverage starts 5.45am (AEDT)
Thursday, 22 October Australia v Mexico Coverage starts 6.45am (AEDT)
Sunday, 25 October Australia v Argentina Coverage starts 8.45am (AEDT)
Friday, 6 November Semi-Final 1 Coverage starts 6.45am (AEDT) Semi-Final 2 Coverage starts 9.45am (AEDT)
Monday, 9 November 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile Final Coverage starts 8.30am AEDT

Seems like a relatively mixed starting line up, players such as Arzani, Brimmer, Joice, Pannetta on the bench

Game of 2 halves i understand the 1st half scrappy but the 2nd half a better display from us.
Costa Rica drew with mexico in qualification so not a bad result either.

I'd love for someone to interview him, I mean fuck me in the last Olyroo qualifiers for the 2012 Olympics they had terrible results and he couldn't get the team to even perform.

Some of the worst Football played by an Australian team.
From memory we parked the bus and didn't score in any game against ordinary teams. Iraq outperformed us even.
Drew more than half of our games and played ultra defensive with Hoffman up front I think.

Korea v Aus U23 kicks off soon, 9 AEDT Possible stream, Channel 8 or KBS 2. http://bwintv.net/
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Channel 8 works a treat. XI in no particular order: Lennox, Gallifuoco, Smith, Ugarkovic, Mauk, Galloway, Burgess, Hoole, Naumoff, Ikonomidis, Taggart,

The 2 CBs have turned the ball over a fair bit when building up, whilst we put ourselves under pressure when we lose it on the counter.

Very true, from the English I can hear its mostly "keep passing" " keep possession" but yeah at least five times we gave the ball away without much or little pressure also another observation, Brad smiths runs are very effective Korea's RB can't handle his pace, just needs to handle his crosses like Galloway is on the right.

Not convinced by Gallifuco and Burgess in the middle, but the one I've been most disappointed with is Smith. Pretty much all their attacks have come from the left hand side.
