The Reds have managed to snare Babalj on a loan deal from his Dutch club AZ Alkmaar until the end of the season.

Has there been anything from the club regarding this?

melbourne_terrace wrote:Enjoy the reserves Bruce. The only reason Bruce Djite was still the number one striker choice at Adelaide for the whole of last season was because he was the ONLY striker at Adelaide. Babalj will be hungry for goals and looking to reignite his career with this loan deal, which at the very least should get Bruce to step his game up.

Djite will change the CBA to prevent Adelaide signing another striker.

It would be nice if Glory could snap him up - a WA lad and a good, within cap, replacement for the departed Keogh!

He would thrive under Gombau Doubt he'd be asking for much, considering he's headed back to Australia having four times in the past two years. Plus, with Boogaard, Watson, Cassio, Ferreira and now Mabil gone and the club's only signings so far being a squaddie CB and an 18 year old midfielder, I'd imagine Adelaide United have PLENTY of space.

Even more evidence that the new striker is Eli. http://drimble.nl/voetbal/eredivisie/az-alkmaar/29486217/janssen-verdrijft-ongewenste-az-spits-naar-de-uitgang.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterdrimble.nl wrote:DUTCH AZ - ELI BABALJ staat aan de vooravond van een terugkeer naar Australië. I think it would be the right decision for him. Come back and have a good two seasons of regular football then look to Europe or asia. it will serve him better to come back then to stay in Europe.

Oh didn't know he was released In that case like you said he needs this badly if he wants to go back to Europe, needs a 10+ goal season
