Zaccardo would fill a position of need for WSW: he is a versatile defender. And in principle, he represents the sort of experienced, high-level defensive leadership one might argue the team's remodeling back line could use. He was part of the Italy squad that won the 2006 World Cup; he won the Bundesliga title with Wolfsburg in 2009, and returned to Serie A for the 2009-10 season to reunite with Francesco Guidolin.

Zaccardo was a regular for Parma, but since joining AC Milan, he's been a fringe player: 14 appearances (nine starts) for the Rossoneri since arriving mid-season in 2013.

Heads up, theres no 'h' in his name.

He'd be a real asset, old, but an asset.

Has barely played the last 2 seasons though.

Shame they've already signed a 'marquee'.

A marquee defender would seem about right for WSW though
