Doubt it, Labour's already copping enough flak for the Townsville stadium promise

http://www.couriermail.com.au/lifestyle/brisbane-city-council-approves-ballymore-redevelopment/story-e6frequ6-1225864903147 My memory is hazy on this but I think the council and the QR wanted it to go ahead but there wasn't enough cash about or not enough support or something. Then, I think, Anna jumped in and said they'd help/pay for it if they were re-elected.

Gee, how surprising a Labor government with no money offering to use taxpayers money to secure votes? Who'd have thought? There are probably a few that think she actually would have delivered ..... ](*,) ](*,)

Simple enough to say 'gee, how surprising that a politician would jump in offering to use taxpayers money to secure votes'. They're all as bad as each other.

You'd have more luck convincing them to make an even bigger stadium now that Suncorp will be dropping down the size pecking order again when Perth Stadium comes online, than making another smaller stadium.

Quote:ENGLAND appears to be the most likely destination for Luke Brattan, despite Brisbane Roar appealing his decision to quit over unpaid wages.
...............blah blah..................
Brattan is confident that Roar’s appeal against his resignation won’t stop him pursuing his dream overseas move.
“Yeah (I’m free), I could have signed last Friday for anyone I am a free agent,’’ Brattan said.
“I have no idea (where it’s at), I haven’t heard from my agent since I have been in camp and I told him I don’t want to hear anything until I finish the camp.
“They are appealing and I gather they would have appealed. I think it’s just another process that goes through to the magistrate

There's another article around, saying the Bakries want to hang around for another 2 years, guess Buggalugs hasn't seen that one yet. Edited by MrBrisbane: 7/9/2015 12:45:47 PM

I'm guessing the argument would therefore be a technical one over whether "late Super" is a sufficient breach of Contract to allow a 2-year-tear-up

If they're paying staff, I guess they must still think they can get a Sale. I'm wondering though where they stand legally if they've been trading insolvent for so long Mulvey's submission says Quote:The first sign something was amiss came in June 2014, when Mr Dobson said: "We have cash flow issues but it will be all sorted when you return." That's 15 months, during which time they've taken on more debt. Who'd be responsible, Dobson or Owners ?

Dobson is keeping his mouth shut (allegedly signed a non-disclosure agreement when he left). A lot of supporters seem quite happy to put the blame on Dobson - despite the Bakries stretching the circus out. No worries though, strongest financial position ever, so I'm told by my learned colleague.

Does anyone know if Brattan go anyone lined up yet? I wonder if he playing both sides really, see if he can get an international offer which he should and be trying to go overseas or if that fails he can still always come back.
I be surprise if mulvey thing will go anywhere given that it was all verbal.
But so sick of this, i think its a good time to introduce a 2nd brisbane team to get rid of the weaklings that want to jump ship.

Thought he was getting a gig @ a Bundesliga team? -PB That would be good, the only thing that was really concrete was Brighton probably going back a year. He won two champions with the roar (well 3 really), what more can he do with the roar. It is better to happen now rather than latter. I know he wanted to get a transfer fee for the club but you can't wait out if your not being payed.

With Brattan leaving, we would definitely be below the cap floor. I know the feeling. I'm generally against foreign ownership in principle because it questions what do they know about Australian football and how it is run and whether they have the desire to enhance the club and as a consequence the game in Australia. Many of us stood quietly waiting, giving the Barkries the benefit of the doubt and now this. However we must not forget that under their regime we have been the must successful club in the land, setting records and certainly responsible for being the best in playing a brand of football no one has been able to match to date. They were also responsible in providing the structure to supporting Ange who had resurrecting his coaching career as a result and who had since grown to better things with the NT. Take away the cash flow issues and it will be virtually business as usual. Brattan hasn't left yet and the wheels have not fallen off either by a long shot. However we have lost trust in the Barkries. It is now clear the foreigners do not have any interest to resurrect or progress the club further and it's time for them to depart as soon as possible.
