Having a look at some of the players according to EA, Luke Devere is our second best rated CB at 69 after Sains at 73 if you guys actually look into FIFA ratings, what are your thoughts?

Archie at 64 is harsh.
Ansell and Geria both 65... Would have thought 63 would be enough?
Good to see Gersbach at 63.

Mitch Oxborrow at 54 seems a touch harsh too.

How Bruce Djite got an upgrade is beyond me :lol:

Surprised Luongo's rating is 68 seeing as how overated the rest of them are. Would have though 70-71 would be more appropriate

Also, Irvine's 61 rating is a travesty

I've seen Sainsbury at 75 when my career was in 2016 and Luongo was at 74.

Doing a career mode with Roda at the moment and decided to take the Aussie contingent to the next level so in my first season brought in Ikon, Clut, Caseres, Pain, Burgess and Gersbach. My biggest regrets are missing out on Rogic (some French team bought him) and missing Sainsbury whose contract ends at the end of the first season but I didn't have enough to match his wages. Hoping I can raise ratings slightly higher through training than just their normal potentials. Ikon, De Silva, Pain and Gersbach are the main ones I have trained and all are around 68-69 towards the end of the first season bar De Silva who is about 65.

The Pain with 76 potential is Oliver pain a 17 year old GK at Stoke, can be bought very cheap in the first season. If you want to train up some Aussies I would probably just get Pain and Gersbach. Focusing on two players should help a lot as you can give a player multiple drills a week. If you haven't done career mode yet when you do training some players have a graph symbol next to them meaning they train easier. Of the Aussie players I have only Pain and Gersbach.

If you want to train up Ikon and are going to use him in games early train up his stamina. It starts somewhere in the 40s which really effects his game.

Lastly I didn't know this until recently but some players can get glitched potentials in career mode. It seems limited to certain players and I haven't heard of any Aussies this year but last year apparently Ruka would have potential above 80 in some saves so if a random aussie makes a big move he might have a glitched overall and be good to get.

Archie probably is past his best but he scored 11 goals last season - if they aren't determining ratings by mostly performance they really shouldn't bother.

I started out Melbourne City in League 2. They have a championship level 11 with a couple tweeks. I immediately bought in a decent CB and CF from the free transer market (Feng from the chinese NT and Aravidis the greek - they were both immense)

It's a great team if you are trying to get a solid aussie contingent - franjic, zullo, mooy are good enough to carry through to top flight and williams kills it off the bench (plus sorensen, hughes, novillo and koren are solid). I picked up Jones (he came in and kept 5 clean sheets in pre season and i almost got 2 mill for him straight away) and Holland for free as well.

Some stooge paid me about 1.5 mill for Partaalu so I did some serious end of contract thievery. Im in league 1 now and just beat chelsea (penalties) in the capital cup.




the new defending has made it much easier to compete with better teams.

When Luongo's potential gets downgraded by 4 points so that it's lower than it was before the Asian Cup.

Just started with Victory in League 2, I moved all HAL teams over. Berisha scored 25 goals in 30 games or so. Got promoted and he demanded a transfer, so at 74 OVL I sold him to Villa for 5mil... Now have an awesome team and I'm cleansweeping League 2 this far.

It still pisses me off that after the first season, 90% of players over 30 just Get their physical stats hammered! McKay loses 8 overall, Jedinak 6, McDonald 6... So fucking shit

it's complete bullshit how much players start losing physical stats. a lot of them start sliding when they are 28. what a load of shit.

i would have done that. built each one for a season or two and jumped between them just to see if i could make enough signings for them to get to top flight...

MCITY had 1.5 mill to start with - that's enough to make some big changes.

Yeah, when you're selecting your club for career mode, if you press triangle, you can move clubs between leagues. I always do it to change things up.

The coolest one is moving all the big four leagues into England, so that after 4 or 5 seasons of simming, you get a sweet champions league thing happening in the Premier League.

I didn't buy FIFA 14 or 15 but just bought 16. Still has the same shitty problems as FIFA 13 :lol:

ive got aaron mooy on 76 now (2017). still shit passes in the defensive half but still tops the league in assists.

luongo is up to 73 and is a free transfer. im going to take him with me into the PL after this promotion.

I've got them both, mooy is pretty ordinary for me at only around 73 but I struggle to find game time for him. I play a 433 and my first team 3 are mastour--Cook--Odegaard, with the cup 3 being Mowatt--Luongo--Antonis

Mooys free kicks can be useful though
