So let's have some fun with this one, from the weird and wacky to pure joy. Tell us about a live sporting experience you have had that is memorable for all the right or wrong reasons. Could be anything from the game itself, Somebody in the crowd an event in the stands. Go crazy. Doesn't have to be about a result can be anything. I will kick it off just to get the ball rolling.

I remember a few seasons ago at aami park was a wet miserable day Heart V WSW I think the grand prix was on same time so was a very low crowd. teams were out having shots until I think it was Ono kicked it over the bar it flew and it made its way into the crowd. Out of the aisle came a chap with 4 beers in hand Onos ball who went like a rocket hit him square in the face beer and all went everywhere. To his credit he got up and gave the thumbs up - Minus 4 beers of course. But you knew the moment it missed the bar and flew over the top at that speed someone was going to get hit. Just had to be the guy with 4 beers. How he got back up ill never know the sound was insane how hard it hit him.

Also at the afl being a die hard bomber fan I would go to most matches. I sat next to our cheersquad which is where my reserve seat was. Prior to the game we took our seats food in hand and before we could eat a smell came across us like no other it was putrid. What was causing this smell we thought. Then to our right we saw it a grown man had removed his pants and was cleaning with a napkin the poo that he had kindly left in it. Didn't take long for security to move him off to a much better location.

lastly - went to a one day match at the G Australia V England must of been around 2007 I think it was. Was a bumper crowd. The bloke in front of us all afternoon was confident he would run on the ground, Until his mates realized the only way he will do it is to get him well sauced. So as the night session came the drinks were in full force his time to shine came. Down the aisle he went trying to look as less suspicious as possible. The crowd around us grow with excitement will he make it. Up the fence he jumped on the ground he landed he launched as quick as he could only to get caught up in the exitemtn tripped on the boundary ropes and then get pummelled by the security. Must of been the best $5000 spend ever. Cricket crowds for you.

Cricket at the SCG is a favourite. Always good fun no matter who is playing, but naturally when the English are there the atmosphere is great. I like watching India play there and talking to their fans as most, if not all of them actually know what they're talking about regarding cricket.

Wouldn't mind going to see college sports in the States. I don't get around it (or not around a specific college or even sport really) but the atmosphere would be out of this world. I've spoken to blokes who've gone to play sport in US colleges and they say it's incredible. The whole college turns up to the basketball, or football, or whatever and it's just captivating.

Sport events that I remember, and wish I was at, but was not at (in no particular order).

Steve Waugh's century at the SCG on the last ball of the day

England vs Australia in the Test match at Edgbaston in 2005 (when we were tantalisingly close)

Australia vs England in the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final

Australia vs Japan at the 2006 FIFA World Cup

Australia vs Croatia at the 2006 FIFA World Cup

Australia vs Uruguay in Sydney in 2005

Liverpool vs AC Milan in the 2005 UEFA Champion's League Final

Liverpool vs West Ham in the 2006 FA Cup Final

One of those Federer-Nadal finals

Usain Bolt breaking the 100m world record in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing literally at at a canter

I went for a CFL semi-final in 2012 which was great fun. Had this rich Canadian Redneck sitting next to me and my three mates trying to hook us all up with his gorgeous daughters
Was a great day once he got pissed and started buying all drinks and trying to convince us to marry his daughters

Yep. He would have been between 50-60, and his daughter between 23 and 28 or so... He just kept complaining about the men they'd brought home, and thought they could use some good foreigners like us

Outside of Football,
The first most memorable event for me would be the final day of the Tour de France in 2004 in Paris. I had always been a big fan of the Tour and this was the first time I had been there in person. I also bought into the Lance Armstrong being the greatest athlete of all time, and this was the day he won his 6th straight title. Just to see Armstrong in person was really special for me, at the time anyway. Robbie McEwen also claimed the green jersey, so there was an Aussie achievement there too. As well as been up for a great time in Paris surrounded by fans from all over the world.
The other really memorable event was an NHL match I went to in Vancouver. The Canucks were playing St. Louis and there was a fight before the game even started.
Another one that sticks in my memory was seeing Zimbabwe beat England in the 1992 cricket World Cup in Albury. Both teams were bowled out for under 150, and Zimbabwe won by only a few runs in the last over if I remember rightly.

After Bradman and, perhaps, Sobers, he probably still is.

Saw a guy get stabbed in the eye with a cornetto at the cricket, and another time a mate got thrown out after getting into a scuffle with Jo Angel at a Shield match after we were on him all day. The combination of a huge ground and a tiny crowd means that the players hear every taunt and the final straw was him screaming "lummox" just as big Jo dropped a catch right in front of the Ladies Stand.

The Australia v Jordan riot was fun, the police killing six Palestinians in the traditional Amman Derby post match baton charge a few weeks earlier was better. Violent retribution for some idiot throwing a rock at Prince Ali. The lights going out in Beirut, 2012 was a great football year.

Had a few crackers.
-The Lions tour in 2013 was a great bit of cross country drinking with some Rugby thrown in along the way.
-Getting absolutely blind for the Asian Cup Semi Final in Newcastle at the Tennis club and the Kent with the locals was awesome fun.
- Vuk fans crashing a hens party at a pub in Geelong before the ACL qualifiers.

Celtic vs Barcelona in 2012 will never be topped though imo. Pep's Barca at it's peak with Alexis Sanchez, Villa, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all featuring vs Neil Lennon side with spuds like Miku and Ambrose starting.

Followed up after with a night on the piss down the Gallowgate, met some great Catalan lads who had flown over and later hooked up with the lass I'd been eyeing for months. Fuckin Mint Night.

The cricket World Cup final this year was immense. Michael Clarke walking off the field the last time knowing he'd just won us the cup, and looking up to Hughesy was a teary moment for about 90,000 people.

Was interviewed by the BBC after the game outside the G. Amazing how small your vocabulary becomes when you remove swear words after a full day on the beers.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was at the Adelaide Oval during an Ashes series probably a decade or so ago.

This guy was absolutely drunk off his head, and stood in front of the hill under the scoreboard and commenced an impromptu strip show, firstly delicately removing his beer stained shirt to reveal a tremendous gut.

The crowd replied with a chorus of (good natured) boos. The guy motions towards himself like "bring it on", and then starts pulling down his trackpants (luckily he had underwear).

Someone threw a baked potato which exploded on his stomach on impact. Cue the crowd pissing themselves laughing. The guy responds by motioning again to himself like "bring it on".

Almost instantaneously, about 3,000 baked potatoes, warm beers and various other foods came raining down on the bloke. He absolutely loved it - catching some of the food and eating it while he got absolutely covered head to toe with food and beer. Within 30 seconds he was soaking wet.

To top it all off security came and "escorted him out". The whole scene topped off by the trackpants falling down again so he was forced to walk like a penguin whilst security had him by the arms.

I never laughed so much in my life!

I remember about ten years ago during a particularly dull session of cricket at the SCG, some of the drunks near the old Doug Walters started making beer cup snakes. Eventually everyone in the crowd started doing the same thing and joined them all up.

After about 25mins an enormous, continuous beer cup snake went literally around the entire length of the ground (except the members, where I was sitting and enjoying my craft beer in a glass). Every time a new section was joined up the drunkards let out a massive cheer, like they were cavemen discovering fire.

And that's why full strength beer is now banned at the SCG.

Yep, they were drinking together all day and one guy bought a bunch of cornettos and wouldn't share. The other wouldn't quit bugging him about it and copped one in the eye for his troubles. Would never happen at the football. To this day my best mate and I still use the phrase "Here's your fuckin' cornetto".

Farking beer snakes?!

Back in the day when there was still grass on the hill at the SCG I used to go from time to time during the WSC days as a kid. Not only was it full strength beer in cans it was permissible to BRING YOUR OWN ESKY!!! None of this mid-strength, namby pamby, nanny state rubbish you have these days.

The best fun was when a huge can fight would erupt and you'd be ducking for cover. I say huge fun until peanuts, dressed only in thongs and stubbies (no shirt), blind drunk from an all day day binge fest and burnt red raw from 35 degree sunshine would start hoiking half full cans, rather than empties, here there and everywhere.

Dodging those bastards and trying to not get knocked out cold was quite the feat.

Australia V Uruguay 2005.

Aloisi's penalty and I jumped up and down and hugged this big random islander guy with a green and gold afro wig on whilst my best mate got dragged down 4 rows by the raucous crowd.

Test Cricket Australia vs someone at the SCG circa 2000. Late in the day on the third day and my brother and I walked around to the doug walters stand when the drunk guy next to us we were just talking to literally stripped naked and opened the gate and did a runner onto the pitch. Hilarious.

Ian Botham popping into the bar for a quick pint after a game at Durham - not leaving for 4 hours, holding the entire bar with one zinger of a story after another. Never cried so much with laughter.

Bumping into Ray Winstone at England vs Trinidad in Germany. Posing for a picture with him once he'd 'had a slash', and wondering if he had time to wash his hands.

Something mentioned on another thread just reminded me of this... Strangest/worst experience ever watching a game. The day of the Hillsborough disaster I was at a match in Oldham. I had a radio with me and during the first half was relaying stories from the BBC about crowd trouble at the semi-final, a Liverpool pitch invasion, etc. Next thing I can remember was the ground in a deathly silence at half time with the stadium announcer describing what he was seeing on tv from Hillsborough. I remember getting on the bus after the game and BBC reporting 'a number of casualties', then getting off the bus back in Sunderland and reading in the football paper (printed between final whistle at 6pm, this was the best source of Saturday news in the pre-internet era) that it was 30 dead (or some similar number)... By the time I had walked home it was up to something like 70.

Yea that's a fair call - it was fairy-tale stuff but at the time no one thought it would be his last match. :(

Last nights match was insane though. The atmosphere shitted over any Roar/Reds game.

Cock fighting in the philippines. Shit is legal there and i left after a minute. Shit is very brutal

UFC for poultry, is it really that bad? I've seen dogfighting in Central Asia and that sickened me because dogs are intelligent and loving which makes them easy to empathise with but chickens are food. Hard to imagine a vicious chicken.

It's not that bad. Yes they strap blades onto the roosters feet and some times there's plenty of blood, but they are just chickens. I've been a few times in the Philippines where it's a big sport that they even show on TV.
The winner gets to take home the losers rooster and eat it for dinner. A good Adobo manok would be nice. There is generally a guy who will pluck the losers chicken for a few peso, so you can pick it up plucked and gutted before you head home.
The most interesting part of it is the betting. You basically decided on a head to head bet with any other member of the crowd. The the loser of the bet screws his peso notes up into a ball and throws it across the stadium to who they had the bet with. At the end of each fight all these balls of notes get thrown all over the stands. If your throw falls short or goes wide the money still ends up being passed to the right person.

Worked at heaps of Stadiums & lots of celeb run ins. Saw someone hop in an elevator with John Howard and say "don't I know you from somewhere". Been in an elevator with Bec & Leyton Hewitt, Spud Carroll, Wayne Pearce & Lara Bingle - now when Bec Hewitt and Lara Bingle are standing right next to each other, it's not Lara Bingle that gets your attention. Busted heaps of people having sex in various places around stadiums, fired staff for doing the same, swept plenty of powder into the bin from suites, watched a U2 sound check as the only person in an 80,000 stadium, used to have my morning coffee as the only person among 50,000 empty seats while the sun rose over the Eastern stands, watched a couple of Socceroos training sessions on my own and if people play the "who would you turn gay for" game I can't answer David Beckham anymore now that I've been within three feet of him, it's just too weird.
