Obviously no sane person is going to advocate it, but it is his right in ours and his country to speak his mind there are laws against making threats From what i can gather he has said doctors SHOULD be killed for partaking in abortions. Not that he would personally hunt down and slaughter all those who oppose him He said that abortion should be considered murder and in the US murder can carry the death penalty. isnt that standard rhetoric for pro lifers though? Of course not. u4486662 is right. That you've said that demonstrates how far this debate has been derailed by both the right-wing Christian nutjobs who advocate the death penalty and don't believe in social welfare and by hardcore ultra feminists. In another thread it was asked what the non-religious arguments against abortion are. I was staggered. Not to support the Catholic Church, but the Catholic Church's stance is pro-life and anti-death penalty. In saying that, plenty of Catholics deviate from these views. And, of course, there are plenty of people who are not religious or politically conservative who oppose the right to abortion on ethical grounds. Plenty of people who hold pro-life views don't believe in the death penalty full stop and don't believe that everybody who wants/approves of abortion wants to kill kids. I'm not actually arguing one way or the other, simply pointing out that this is rather a complex issue and it's fairly emotional.
