Number of deaths caused by terrorism and gun violence

Gun deaths in the United States this year alone far outstrip terrorism-related deaths between 1970 and 2014.

US terrorism deaths, 2014 - 18
US terrorism deaths, 1970 to 2014 - 3521

People fear what they don't need to, and don't fear what they should.

And cars are heavily regulated with strict safety rules, seat belts, speed limits, licences that can be suspended. People with certain medical conditions and mental health conditions can't drive. Cars have to be registered and pass roadworthy tests.

Most people are calling for stricter regulation like a normal country would have rather than this under regulated gun frenzy.

And cars are actually a vital component of society unlike guns.

The US is the only country with such a high level of gun deaths, and such a high frequency of gun massacres, even taking into account population size.

There is something inherently wrong with how the US does things. Other countries have mental health issues, other countries have access to guns, other countries have violent TV movies and video games, yet nothing on this scale and frequency happens elsewhere.

The lack of sane gun regulation in the US is the obvious cause.
