There are no grounds to oppose it unless:

The second point is a big one. If they did a shade study and a minaret casts a shadow over a house or two, it is a legitimate reason to stop it. On the GC, a development we were working on did not pass the final DA stage due to the shade study casting a shadow over neighbouring single storey residences.
