I fully appreciate that there is already a football betting thread. But it seems to deal expressly with the A-League plus it is more of a match-by-match analysis.

That's great. It's terrific value. But I think a thread which acts as more of a general guide, especially in a more European sense would be beneficial, too.

I'm interested in learning more about betting on European football especially with respect to betting on corners and >2.5 goals> . I'm also interested in hearing about accumulators. But they seem a bit more challenging than betting on corners or >2.5 goals>. It seems to me the kind of bet you wouldn't want to put too much money on.

What kind of experience do you guys have with this? I've only just started to take an interest in it. My Swedish and British friends bet on this a lot. Some rather heavily.

It just seems to me that, with a significant amount of research and due diligence, you can exploit these markets better than others.

Especially the betting on corners part. It's especially interesting for me (as somebody interested in the more analytical elements of football). I mean, for example, you can look at how a certain team might play a very aggressive brand of football with lots of emphasis on the wing and it might be more likely to win corners.

It involves watching a lot of football. But that's always fun.

Anyway, so what experience do you guys have? Any tips for strategies, models or even just people whose Twitter accounts are worth paying attention to?

I think things like corner and over/under total betting requires a substantial amount of research.

But that's what appeals to me about it. It's more specialised. You can draw upon specific tactical aspects of football to inform your knowledge of whether or not you should place a bet.

It feels like it's more educated than betting on accumulators.

But I agree with you that betting on this type of thing requires quite a bit of knowledge.

adrtho, can you use ELO for this kind of betting? If so, how? Do you know of any thing to read, either guides or twitter, to learn about how to handle these bets?

Also what do you think of bet365?

all a accumulators is , your stake (amount of money you bet) + profit on to the next bet

many still use a Elo type system to bet with..10 years ago you could make good money with a elo type system , much harder now

Bet365 let you win $15 . i wish i own them

corner and over/under total is much more about mathematics...you might know about a team style , but do you know what happens to goal scoring when the temperature move up/down from monthly mean?

corner and over/under total is for pro punters who bet into Asian, which bookmakers like bets365 then just copy the odds from asian and give the there punter shit odds and $15 win limit
