This is an unpopular opinion, but as what someone said, these four words pretty much sum it all up->

Shut your whore mouth :x One of the most overrated musical groups of their generation, and there were a lot of contenders. Don't you listen to Hip Hop? That's not all I listen to  That's all one needs to know. Kid's these days. No wonder radio music is a fucking abortion. Whats wrong with hiphop?? I listen to every thting from hiphop to metal to trance to fucking polka and some bosnian folk music . I hate it when people belittle those who listen to music thats not there intrest. It's not about interest. I respect artists who do their thing well. Hip Hop and rap however seems to be filled with idiots who get famous for singing about women and money and it's painful. This sort of music should be illegal for being so god damn awful. People always go on about digging deeper to find 'real' artists. How the fuck do the idiots get famous then if people who like 'real' artists aren't supporting the genre?

Edited by mvfcarsenal16.8: 19/4/2016 10:08:30 PM I single out hip hop because the commercial side is all the same shit. Like i said which you ignored because you wanted to bitch some more was the commercial artists (lacking artistry) rap/talk/whatever they do about the same things. I'll ask again, how are the idiots so popular if the genre is filled with artists bringing up deeper issues? How is Kanye West even relevant? Lyrics like this are why I resent the majority of hip hop/rap: Quote:I once knew a nigga whose real name was William His primary concern, was making a million Being the illest hustler, that the world ever seen Wtf does this even mean speak english

No i do like ACDC. There aren't too many bands I can listen to for hours on end. I like new and old music. Don't pretend to have a worldly perception we know you do not possess  salmonfc wrote: Just because Iron Man or Triple M played Back in Black doesn't mean it's still as popular as you think it is. It certainly doesn't mean that it has more artistic value than the pop music you hear every day. If you actually knew where to look, you could find shitloads of great music released this year.

In the past week I've heard, Born to Wild Heard it Through the Grapevine I'm a Believer My Generation Bad Moon Rising I Feel Good Probably here songs from that era being used more in the advertising though, which still suggests it is popular.

I also love rap, but 60s-80s rock is where it's at. Lets face it, 20 years ago pop songs had actual music and guitarists who could play a guitar in it. Having been to a few pop shows with the mrs. the art of guitar is dead on commercial radio. Europe - The Final Countdown is a song about sweet fuck all but the music is badass. Same with earlier hip hop, nice Jazz guitar in a lot of songs. Rare to hear it these days :(

Unpopular opinion 1: Kanye West is a musical genius. People who claim his lyrics have no meaning have never listened to one of his albums, or can't get over their dislike of him as a person so cherry pick lines out of context to try and prove a point.
Unpopular opinion 2: There is nothing wrong with pop music. Justin Timberlake is one of the best artists on the planet, Prince is one of the greatest musicians of all time and Michael Jackson is one of the best entertainers ever. music doesn't need to be deep and meaningful, sometimes it just needs to sound good.

Nickleback actually have decent musicians in their band and Chad Kroger can actually sing. Same goes for Blink 182.

Heaps of good pop bands out there that are still "real" so to speak, they're just not in the mainstream channels of Australia. One of my favourite bands ever is a Canadian pop band. -PB

Drugs at music festivals should be allowed to help perpetuate natural selection.

I feel like a inherently bad person now. This is one of those; its ok to think that for yourself but starts to get a little contentious when you think others should feel the same way.
