At 28 his best years should be AHEAD of him. I fear though if he doesn't get a season as no. 1 soon he will never achieve his full potential.

Worst case scenario he's number one for a Bundesliga 2 side and players every week?
Better case scenario he gets an offer from a mid/lower table Bundesliga team and plays in the Bundesliga

Good league. Popular club, city. They will go back up after a year. Why would he leave? Does need to be #1 GK. Edited by hmterraaus: 17/5/2016 02:39:09 AM

With his best years behind him, will we see Mitch return home to try and resurrect his career? sounds like he might be a first choice keeper for once. he should stay where he is - he is not going to get the same money and a starting spot in a hurry. one cracking season in the b2 and the world is his. not a time to make stupid decisions if he ever wants to have some kind of career.

Would have been the number 1 at Stuttgart from the start of the season if he didn't get injured straight after signing.
Who knows, maybe they would have stayed up too with Mitch in goals.
Even if they go down, he's far better served staying and being the #1 keeper there, even if it's in the second division.

Yeah, nah. Not his best years behind him. He's at what is, supposedly, the best age for goalkeepers. And he could be a top flight goalkeeper for more than another decade.
Why wouldn't he stay with Stuttgart in 2 Bundesliga, Bowden? That's still a substantially higher level than just about any other Australian goalkeeper is competing at. It's a much higher level than the A-League. There's every chance that Stuttgart will be back in the Bundesliga in a couple of seasons time, anyway.
He's still the most talented Australian goalkeeper around at the minute. If he gets proper gametime under his belt, meanwhile Ryan struggles to make it off the bench in Spain, then Langerak will be in goals for the Socceroos as we approach the world cup (assuming we qualify).
If Langerak can do some impressive things for Stuttgart despite having a lousy defence in front of him, that would be the best thing possible for Australia going into a world cup. After all, that best replicates what the NT will have to deal with against world class attacks.

Can't believe he's 28 already. Really needs to get some consistent game time, he's running out of chances and will become a #2 for the rest of his career if he isn't careful.

With Stuttgart odds on to be relegated, Langerak is likely to find himself being a 28-year old #2 GK in the Buli 2 next season.
With his best years behind him, will we see Mitch return home to try and resurrect his career?
