+x+x@ primetecYou're more precise than i was but that fall off at around 10-15% is about right. Interestingly Cahill isn't yet boosting home crowds, certainly not in the way other name marquees have? Cahill at home games should be adding 15-30% max. He's just one player that australians have seen play many times. When City play away, you would expect an increase in ticket sales of 25-40% as they are one off games. You're right here. City have average 8,982 from year to date and last year we averaged 7,370. A 22% increase. Away games have gone up too. Wellington away went from 6,591 to 10,034. The Derby went from 40,217 to 43,188. Brisbane away went from 10,812 and 16,435 (average of 13,624) to 20,198. Western Sydney went from 14,820 to 14,232 Big increases for 2 games, about the same for 2 crowds though I don't think anyone expected a big rise in the Melbourne derby and Western Sydney given the new stadium. I think Cahill will continue increasing crowds in Newcastle, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and on the Coast.

The game against Heartless Vi$ion City) at Spotless was on a Friday night starting at 7.50pm during school term. Most of members under are not turning up because of the crap scheduling by the FFA. Friday is atrocious for traffic getting to Sydney Olympic Park. Plus there is no real co-ordination with Sydney Trains. Plus being in the Stadium is looked more like a 15-16k. There may be something amiss with the ticket scanning at Spotless as the game against the Roar looked like a 12-13k crowd.

Does anyone know any information regarding where victory and city members actually come from within Melbourne?

Melbourne city crack 12,000 members for first time in history. However consistently pessimistic people are towards us, we've seen real steady growth from us this season.
- 12k members - Our lowest crowds in trying conditions are no lower than 8k and our ceiling of core is around 11,500k - We won our first silverware and brought 19k to the final
People are delusional if they think we can just pull 15k from no where, but it's great to see some growth in our club, and that we are slowly building to a team that as a base gets 10k members and 10k crowds as an absolute minimum

There was 19k yes, but Sydney Fc fans were louder with their travelling support than yours at home for a final no less.

@ MCMH
until all the clubs publish a breakdown of their membership numbers these numbers should be treated with caution. City have 12k members but an average crowd less than that ..... so? Too many clubs throw in stadium members, corporate members, dead pet members to boost the numbers but it all means squat if bums aren't on seats.

Same applies for Victory that consistently get 16k-20k yet have 25k members. Same applies wsw with 18k members and only get crowds of 12-13k. So yes we should really get a breakdown from all clubs. Syd fc on the otherhand c9nsistently get larger crowds than their member base showing that they dont flog their memberships like some other clubs in the league.

Brisbane and Sydney are the top two I reckon. Yep Brisbane too for sure. In saying that i think we can all acknowledge that both clubs could be doing more to increase their member base but at least the core group of members are going to most games.

I hope you folks like the new layout im using. Figured this looks prettier on the eye than using the old manual format.
I will probably do 2 more updates. One in mid Feb and the other in March.
With 4 clubs hitting membership records, it has been a pretty solid year members wise. The reason we haven't seen an all time record as of yet is because of the disparity between Brisbane's memberships 2 years ago as opposed to now, which makes up to 6,000 members alone.
What is interesting is that if we were to calculate the A-leagues current potential max membership base, based on all club records this year and in previous years, we would be hitting roughly 120k if all clubs this year broke records. So I think looking into next season, the fair target should be no more than 120k. In order to break through that we'd a need a real circuit breaker, potentially an even greater marketing campaign or better still multiple clubs bringing in big name signings. Do that and we have a chance of hitting and surpassing that 125k figure that the FFA were cocky on targeting a few years ago.

Thanks Davo, good to see significant increases this year for the majority of clubs. AS JA has alluded to, if the Roar owners can get their act together it would be great, not only for the club but also the League as a whole. We have tracked pretty good attendances this year which is amazing.

+xNew figures are out Davo, little increases from a few. Thanks Mr Brisbane. The timing is shocking. They must have been literally updating it as I was at the same time. SOme of their figures were quite old so I will look now and see which ones need to be updated. Most id assume. Will be back with updated stats.
