really impressed Adelaide united is selling 3 year memberships i wonder how that is selling i know its not original but its a great idea imo, i have a feeling this season membership wise will improve even discounting the extra memberships the Wanderers will have this season Edited by swarth: 20/6/2016 06:32:52 PM

Good to have this thread back. =d>
If there's any truth to the Cahill rumour, City might have an increase.
Adelaide should certainly have an increase too.
And with WSW playing at Spotless, they'll have a higher capacity.

Should see an increase. Adelaide supporters should still be on a high. Brisbane did a lot better last year. Newcastle have a new promising owner. Perth finished the season strong, have their shit together, resigned Castro, and have signed WA players I think people will want to see. Melbourne City will have higher marquee power this year and will have Fornaroli. Would love to see Fornaroli stay at City for a while, actually help create some identity. Need a club legend.

I reckon we may see a slight drop with Victory and Sydney FC unless sydney brings in a bigger marquee. Mariners will also see a drop imo. The roar are a bit unknown as are phoenix at this stage. Overall we should see a jump but at this stage its early days.

Wouldn't surprise me if we dropped slightly after last year's result, but I reckon we'd still crack 24k.

Only renewing the missus' membership this year. Moving away from the coast so no real point, maybe a distance membership if they have one

We (adelaide) have 4,477 members after just over a month of memberships being on sale. Be interesting to compare to this time last year.

Not great but I think it's better than same time last year and seems as if other clubs membership runs have started a couple of weeks earlier.

14th June according to club website. 4,400 are automatic renewal introduced last year. We need decent recruitment or I think we will be well short of last year.

sadly with sydney fc's year last year you are bound to lose members unless you get a big name player who will drive membership i forgot that a lot of clubs have auto renew, seems like Adelaide are doing well too but they should considering they won everything still excited for the Wanderers membership to go on sale but obviously we will take longer to put memberships on sale due to our stadium situation

I'd say flat to down (slightly) unless there's a big improvement in marketing, by club:
Adelaide United: - same Brisbane Roar: - down, fans are really unhappy at the moment Central Coast Mariners: -same but only just Melbourne City: - up, slightly Melbourne Victory: - same Newcastle Jets: -same Perth Glory : up slightly Sydney FC: down Wellington Phoenix: same Western Sydney Wanderers: up slightly
But if Victory and Wanderers knock it out of the park then all bets are off, numbers will rise; same with Roar if they do get new (and better) owners then they should rise to 9-10k but until nearer the season start I'd be very cautious on these numbers, its a tough economy as well

But I'm out of the loop there, so the unrest may just be that bad. Perhaps the FFA will take them back before the season kicks off.

Mv are targeting 28 k members for this season, so new members will get new categories seating whilst old members get + a b or c memberships

Not actually that close myself but various forums you read are not good reading, lots of disillusioned fans threatening not to renew in protest, even the new MD is getting flogged on the club web pages. if nothing changes I think membership will halve again, and if the FFA takes over it'll be just as bad - plenty of resentment towards the FFA's handling of a very poor situation for three years.

Wanderers just started sending out letters for membership renewal, has every club started selling memberships yet?

It's still not exactly clear if Roar are subject to a takeover but assuming they are and the new owners handle the next month well they'll do alright on membership.

That's where Aussie Rules fans differ so much from football fans, they stick with their club/game no matter what. Far too much politics in football instead of putting the game first and foremost.
