+x+x+xCity have a Sunday family friendly kickoff this week against Welly but cool and clear weather predicted. Expecting a big crowd. What like 10k? Jets fan commenting on City crowds, bless. It'll be nudging 12-14k. For a regional team that has done shit all for 8 years + off field dramas etc, Jets crowds are simply fantastic.

This week.
CCM/Per - 6,000 (Thursday night...why? At least the weather is fine) WSW/Roar - 13,000 (WSW fans are a bit weird this year so going low for this) Victory/Jets - 20,000 (20k min, fine weather predicted and a rare arvo kickoff so should be a lot higher) Syd/Reds - 16,000 (Fine Saturday night. Should be 16k min) City/Phoenix - 11,000 (this will be big. Free kids tickets + arvo kickoff + WLeague double header + fine weather. Could even go higher)
66k would be a great result. Shame about CCM on a Thursday.

Prob will get listed as 6k but would probably be 3-4k max inside the stadium.

The opposite happens in winter when most sit in the Eastern side to stay warm watching the NRL. Thursday night in a commuter town - 6k sounds about right to me.

If Newcastle was to go on a good run and have a few good seasons in a row I'd their fan base is that good their average would easily get into the top 4 excluding derbies for both Melbourne and Sydney clubs.

Tbf Basically CCM, Newcastle, Wellington, Perth and Melb City would all attract crowds of 5-8k if they had a Thursday night game against interstate opposition.

Is it about the crowd or the image?
11,000+ is not bad for a team that's horrid (Niko aside), but spotless looks pretty sparse with that turn out.

11k is bad for them, that is their lowest this season. Still decent though I guess.

Doesn't matter where SFC sits on the table, we get criticism for our numbers and the reasons are always, but never applicable to other teams (like WSW) What is ok to use to criticize SFC and the Cove is not applicable to WSW and their fans. Not looking forward to the crowds when they have a game in the wet thats for sure. It will be a CCM like crowd

Its no wonder their tight arse owner is going after Keane. And they claimed that they wouldnt need to follow syd fc path of high profile gimmicky marquees, yet here they are trying everything possible to get their crowds up. Whoever voted for spotless out of its member base is pretty fucking stupid. I reckon theres a chance they will acg around 10k-11k outside of derbies come seasons end.

Oi settle down, There are some obvious reasons why Wanderers home crowds are down. It does not take a genius to figure this out. The league and wanderers will have to put up with this arrangement for 3 years, best get use to it. On a positive note the wanderers even with this arrangement will still ave larger crowds then any of the first 4 seasons.

I have never bagged sfc for its crowds either, in fact i have always said they get the short end of the stick when compared to the wanderers because they play in a much larger stadium. Poor performances will affect attendance, fact is wsw are hard to watch, the venue isnt exactly great. Sometimes we have unrealistic expectations imo

Whenever we point that out fans say (but you have a bigger stadium blah blah blah ) take out ANZ and we your crowd are low. This is not an attack on WSW. It is more a "come on, stop giving SFC shit for their crowds". Or more to the point, dont throw rocks when you live in a glass house

+xBoth Sydney teams are drawing poor crowds - why? I don't see either as poor. Sydney have stayed pretty much the same. They're playing well but after many seasons of awful football they have to prove the public they are worth watching by consistent performances. If they continue playing well the crowds should start picking up towards the end of the season. Joe Public's been tricked into thinking Sydney have been good to watch before. The Wanderers are playing in an awful ground, they're lucky that many come to view from a distance.

Decent turn out for City. They have a good chance of doing back to back 5-figure crowds with the visit of Roar next week. Can't imagine that's happened too many times.
