I really, really liked Takahagi & Tanaka (?), and thought both left way too early for WSW. I'm going to assume I like any Japanese import that Poppa brings in just as much.

However, both our previous guys were from very solid backgrounds and had potential at one point to get international caps. One in fact did.

This guy looks below average. I'm guessing he is a cheap player for the ACL as hopefully Poppa is planning to spend big on another aussie. It means he could leave Pinatares out and keep him for league games only

Well, his Wikipedia page is a phenomenally detailed article providing numerous details on him.

I did have a giggle at that too.

His playing history isn't great. He played 11 games last season I believe, and most off the bench.

Poppa has good links in Japan it seems. Ono we all know was a huge success. Takahagi was a nice player who we never saw enough of and Tanaka looks very competent and also could have been retained. On that success rate Id bet that this guy will turn out okay.

Word is that announcement should be soon, no confirmation its this bloke but apparently it will be a winger. This lad seems to be central so who knows who they have got in mind now

I'd say this is exactly what it means, means we can fit in another visa player in the ACL, maybe a marquee when/if we sign one.

I know it's a singing with ACL in mind and easier to convince players to come with the offer of ACL but was surprised Poppa didn't sign someone from Japan last season. His links there seem to be very successful and he has by far the best success rate with signing Asian players

Indeed. But I think Carrasco was probably handed the reigns for most of the recruiting last year.
