Some discussion around Brad on their forum. Wagner being Klopps assistant at BVB may sort something out but not clear on the source. http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/100977/brad-smith

that's a great thread :) Quote:We've got a ready-made replacement in the form of the old dear that works in the Huddersfield Station Buffet. She's quicker than Davidson and probably tougher in the tackle- might be a bit raw with the crosses but practice makes perfect... maybe there could be some sort of offer involved- 20% off a bacon bap for season card holders? Jason can cover her shifts on a Saturday afternoon surely? Read more: http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/100977/brad-smith#ixzz4EraFpzAz

Unless Kloop makes more signings it looks like Moreno and Smith will be his only two dedicated LBs, I'd imagine he'd need the depth, and it'd be a shame to loan him to only replace another Aussie in Davidson.

With no European football this season depth may not be so important, especially if Gomez can get back to full fitness, who would slot in ahead of Smith in the pecking order. No europe but depth is always important as we know. Injuries/Cup games/League Cup games - hey we could do a Fox's season :) lol..... I'll be disappointed Smith loaned out, as you know sydcro Gomez now a way off recovering from achilles issue, will be interesting whats to become. That link says alot what some supporters thinking of Davidson.

Klopp did say he doesnt want to loan out the young players but also knows some players want to leave so they can play more, smith may be on of these players.

Isn't Gomez a CB? Can't see that sort of player really fitting in with Klopps style out wide

Gomez can play across the defense but favoured at CB. When fit I couldn't see Klopp thinking he can't make use of him, his talent is right up there at his young age. jas88, your right, he has quoted not wanting to loan out many of the young talent but obviously at times you have to due to them wanting more game time and 2 developing experience elsewhere.

Gomez is injured again with an achilles injury and either way is a 4th CB at the moment and I dont think he'll suit Klopp at LB. Theres only 2 LBs in the squad and Smith wont leave unless a LB is signed.

He said he doesnt want to loan out heaps of players for the sake of it. Instead he wants to be a lot more specific and measured where he loans players so he's sure theyre going to the right environment. He's already loaned Ward to Huddersfield and Im sure he'll trust Wanger with another loan or two if Wagner is interested.

A scathing fan assessment of Davidson."By far their weakest player".-What a fall from grace since the World Cup.

He often plays an opposition player onside (did in the world cup) or might make too wide a gap between cb and lb. ecl was always going to be a tough league for him. It seems the huddersfield fans complaints are about him being in nomans land defending a lot if he does improve these areas of the game that could be really beneficial to his career
