Not crazy about changing to an eight point star though, despite its use in the Eureka Flag and the federation movement. I do not understand the white tip at all, and actually think it makes it worse. Which is why Brazil's flag is shit. Scroll down on that page and it explains why it's white. New Zealand's referendum was shit. First they voted for an alternative which was always going to split the vote. Then they put the old flag up against the new proposed flag which was the least least liked. The referendum should have been. Should we change the flag? Yes/No. Once that was settled in the affirmative then throw up some ideas and vote for it. The problem would have been some people wanted to change it but didn't like the alternative. If we ever want to change it in Australia we need to vote to change it first. Then pick one.

I like Pala’s flag, I like both unity flags, and I like the golden wattle flag. I have to say though, that golden wattle flag would be instantly recognisable as Australia and would not be difficult for any foreigner to remember. Up there with U.K. and USA for sure.
pretty indifferent to the anthem changing, it’s a shit anthem anyway. To be honest, Australia as a nation is young, in the same way that Singapore is, but in a couple hundred years the lyric might seem stupid anyway.
