Shanghai Shenua for the Roar - that's as hard as they could have got. I would love to have seen 3 teams in the ACL.

How do they choose the location, why do the Roar have to go to Myanmar?

Looks like a poor schedule for Amor's team plus the dilemma of cutting two visa players!
Who gets cut out of Carrusca, La Rocca (still a foreigner for the AFC), Isaias, Cirio, Guardiola

As per reports, Shanghai Shenhua issued an apology after failing to qualify for the AFC Champions League group stage.

"We want to apologise to our fans who braved the freezing cold to support us because it was a shame what happened on the pitch,"

"Every player have strived for the very best and we shared the same desire to win,

"However, football is cruel. When you keep wasting goal-scoring chances, the prospect of a victory is fast receding. We are gutted and regret the lost opportunities but the team will not give up.

"The spirit of Shenhua will not die away because of one game. The team will spare no effort for the new season of CSL and start all over again."

good start for CSL clubs in ACL, especially for SIPG and Suning victory in korea, usually CSL clubs lost points in Korea, but managed to achieve good results in Japan, all of the three CSL clubs has good chances to win their group

I see that now Japanese clubs and players are seriously involving in ACL, with more money boosted by J League and its sponsors since they have seen how Kashima was advertised in FIFA Club World Cup.
CSL clubs have the right way to do, except Shenhua(I guess you Guoan fans like it), consistent/experienced coach with its team build up in right way.
All K League participants changed their coaches just before 2017 ACL started, so it might take some time, well I am happy to see Seoul or Suwon humped in Asia though.. ;)

China's LeSports Said to Default on Major Soccer TV Contract

Chinese sports media company LeSports has been stripped of its rights to broadcast Asian Football Confederation soccer games after defaulting on payments, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company, a subsidiary of smartphone-to-taxi service business LeEco, missed a payment in January and another deadline to pay a portion of its $100 million contract by last week, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is subject to a lawsuit.

Edith Chen, a spokeswoman for LeSports, wasn’t able to provide a comment on the matter. The Asian Football Confederation didn’t immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

LeSports’ failure to make the payment is the first sign of cracks in China’s super-charged media market for sports rights, which has seen companies in the world’s most-populous country bid up the price of soccer properties from the domestic Super League to England’s Premier League to record levels. PPTV in November agreed to buy three-years worth of Premier League for more than $650 million, more than 12 times the current contract.

AFC charges Guangzhou for fans' 'British Dogs' banner

By Reuters

HONG KONG, April 27 (Reuters) - China's Guangzhou Evergrande have been charged by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) after their fans unfurled a banner with the words 'Annihilate British Dogs' during their Asian Champions League match against Hong Kong's Eastern on Tuesday.

The banner, which read "Annihilate British Dogs, Eradicate Hong Kong Independence Poison", was displayed late in Guangzhou's 6-0 win over the Hong Kong champions.

Guangzhou, two-time winners of the continental club competition, have been charged with two offences, the first under Article 58 of the AFC's disciplinary and ethics code and the second under Article 65, which relates to spectator misconduct.

Japan's Kawasaki Frontale have also been charged by the AFC under Article 58 after fans of the club displayed a wartime flag at their meeting with South Korea's Suwon Bluewings at Suwon World Cup Stadium.

Officials travelling with the club reportedly confiscated the flag, used by the Imperial Japanese Army until the end of World War II, from two men while other supporters were escorted from the stadium.

Lebanon's Nejmeh also face being sanctioned under articles 58 and 65 for incidents during their meeting with Jordan's Al Wehdat in the AFC Cup last week. (Reporting by Michael Church, Editing by Sudipto Ganguly)

Crazy end to Evergrande v Shanghai SIPG. Shanghai won the first leg 4-0, then after 120 minutes in the second leg it was 5-5 and Shanghai won on penalties.

Semis:

Shanghai v Kawasaki/Urawa
Al Hilal v Persepolis

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
