+xInteresting. I actually meant it in a totally different way. To me the issue with the A-league to those who are not interested in it is that they too often just try to compare it the premier league with off the cuff comments like "well it's shit compared to the (insert top level league here)". There is a constant comparison that we just can't comepete with and the a league shouldn't have to. No one with a half brain would ever think there was a comparison to make but unfortunately people still do - so I think any reference like "Australia's premier league" is the worst way to approach it to be honest.I think of "our game our way" as taking ownership of our game, being proud of it and saying this is how we play football - this is our contribution to the global game as you say. I saw it as calling a sapde a spade. ffa arent trying to target the football literate. Thetre targeting bored afl fans who profess to know football because they own a liverpool strip. And the Problem with us doing it our own way, is that its incompatible with a world game. Its arguable that we are being held back as a football nation because of the fact that we're doing it our own way.
Is Wellington diverse? Dont know, however this is a club that has no historical or existing link to a specific migrant group - Rusty Einstein
The negative stereotypes are perpetuated by people who either have no idea or are serving a vested interest; neither viewpoint should get anywhere near running Australian football - Ange Postecoglou
