+xhave to say i want to see arzani irrespective of whether he is better at this stage simply because he is so entertaining to watch. Would love to see rogic mooy arzani and luongo all taking on players The trouble is BVM has no long term interest in Australia. A coach like Arnold would be more likely to select him to beat Iran for his services.

+x+x+xThe team of pace (some decent crosses) (& forward pressure) -------------------------(Ryan/Vukovic)------------------------ ------------------Jurman------------Sainsbury---------------- Atkinson--------------------------------------------Gersbach ---------------Irvine---------------------Luongo--------------- Arzani------------------Petratos----------------------Behich -----------------------------Juric----------------------------------- Bench
Rogic Mooy Nabbout Borrello Dougall Susjnar i forgot about atkinson when thinking about the team. he should be given a look in because the competition for the spot is thin. risdon ffs? Thomas Deng was very impressive against WSW at RB, another option? He could be. I think Risdon was better than expected against Colombia. His weakness is his defending as opposed to his attacking play though. Bailey Wright was poor at RB against long ball Norway, when I thought their style would've played to his strengths.

+xI thought it was more or less established that you cant have rogic and mooy on at the same time Ange had them playing as twin 10's or 8's so they got in each others way. France had the same issue with Zidane and Djorkaeff who were both n10's at Juve and Inter. Jacquet made Zidane his playmaker with freedom to drop deep and start things and Djorkaeff placed further forward closer to Guivarc'h in a more Del Piero type role. Neither got in each others way as they had two very different tasks. Mooy and Rogic in midfield up till now have had the same task and end up occupying the same space in a way Lampard and Gerard did.

I'd like to see this...
------------------------------Ryan--------------------------------- ----------------Sainsbury-----------Williams------------------- Atkinson-----------------------------------------------Meredith ----------------------Irvine-----------Luongo--------------------- ----Leckie------------Rogic----------------------Petratos----- -------------------------------------Arzani------------------------
Gives arzani a more central role which decreases his supposed defensive liability.

+xI wouldn't mind seeing something like this in one of the friendlies After Juric went off we really struggled for an outlet to relieve pressure. Cahill offers nothing in general play and if we don't have 60% posession like against Honduras and Syria it's pointless playing him. Our general play looks better with Juric when we have 50% or less Get Rogic out of the midfield battle and up where he can do the most damage and not burn himself out. Playing more inside may allow Aziz to run the channel. I'd like to see Mass and Jackson play like they did against Chile. Similar to O'neill and Brilliante at Syd. Own the centre with energy and speed and allow Mooy to pull the strings. Both can cover for Aziz if he's caugh forward the 3 in the middle can move around pretty fluidly so if Irvine or Mass goes for a sortie Mooy will just slip in to keep the shape. RB still and issue. Pretty much mum 11 and formation with Behich and Luongo doubt brilliant cover on the left if Rogic goes central or far up.

+xIt's not the squad chosen...Just my opinion on what the squad should look like. You've stated IMO above the squad. Those who can read will understand. I think the real squad will be pretty close. If Rukavytsya has good club form he'll sneak in.

Rogic is better on the other side of the field. Cutting inside onto his left foot.

Our advantage is we have lots of versatile players. Milligan, Jedinak and Williams double as midfielders and defenders. Jedinak as a defender is an absolute last resort but the squad should have good balance.
Looks like Amini, Jeggo and Hrustic are completely off the radar. Shame about Ikon but let him get established and maybe he'll make it to the UAE.

Mabil hasn't played at all lately. Wright will be in the extended squad but I want to try and get Spiranovic or Wilkinson in.

+xGood to see Atkinson, Borello, Dougal and Arzani in the extended squad. Haven't heard much about Mabil for a bit, so would be interesting to see if he gets some time in the friendlies. That isn't the extended squad

+xI'm really starting to think that perhaps Borello would be better on the wing for Rogic, even Petratos , instead of Leckie. I just sincerely believe it would produce more goal mouth opportunities. Provide better passing combinations, perhaps lanes and options. Huge issue with Kruse and Leckie is the linking in with Rogic. The front combinations are nothing like Leckie and Kruse watching Celtic w/ Rogic. It is much much DIFFerent/better watching Celtic, forwards are always passing around the box. Not just lumping it in. like this: ---------------Jedinak--------Luongo--------------- -------Borello-------------------------Nabbout----- ------------------------Rogic-----------------------------------------------------Juric------------------------ In the Columbia game we had 7 shots w/ only 1 on target. We need to see something different happenning in front. i'd like to see borello on the opposite side of leckie. our 2 biggest bully wingers would terrorise even the best fullbacks.

Nabbout has drive and strength. Definitely tough for Kruse to get back in front after Nabbout got two starts.
