+xCan't believe Connor Metcalf isn't even in the mix for the squad. Our best midfielder at the Olympics and head and shoulders above McGree. Who says he isn’t in the mix. Two or three lists from this forum means nothing when it comes to the actual team selection. IMO he will be right up there and I won’t be surprised if he was selected.

+x+x+xHow far down would you all rank someone like Dan Hall? would he be a loss if he ends up getting capped for Fiji? The kid looks a great ball playing prospect, we dont have many ball playing types like that so you never know. Would like to see what he could do in the Olyroos set up first. He is already 22, will be to old for next olympics The next u23 AFC Championship will be held in January 2023 so I think he will be eligible for that.

If the kid was set on representing Fiji thats all well and good, but if he is absolutely serious about his football he'll be doing all he can to play consistently and give himself the best opportunity to represent Australia. Both Rowles and Hall have been excellent at the back for CCM. Be interesting to see if RT is slotted straight back into the eleven when he has recovered. Why does playing for Fiji mean he isnt serious about his football? What do you think would come with more plaudits being a part of an australian side that qualifies for a world cup? Or being apart of Fiji, and qualifying for the world cup for the 1st time? He could potentially be captain for the 2026 side as well

I reckon Ryan, Maynard-Brewer, Izzo Atkinson, Sainsbury, Degenek, Stensness, Behich, Elder, (if fit, Gersbach if not), Risdon Jeggo, Mooy, McGree, Hrustić, Rogić, Devlin, Irvine Jurić, Boyle, Borrello, Ruka, Nabbout, Maclaren

Man I didn’t realise how shallow our pool of available wingers is. Would love to drop Leckie from the squad but there aren’t any experienced / in-form replacements that we can rely on right now at such a crucial stage of WC qualifying.

Both in form but neither are experienced.

By suggesting Valentino Yuel and a kid with a grand total of 3 minutes of professional football, you’ve somehow made me feel even worse about our wing options than I did before 🙈

urely Borello before those two kids? played 71 mins on the weekend. Starting to find some form after his injury earlier this year.
Crazy that his old club Freiburg currently 6th in the bundesliga!

Unlikely but could play with proper wing-backs providing the width and keeping the others fairly central. Think he sticks with the trusted blokes out wide though. Arzani was really promising but nobody else has really come on since 18.

Ryan Vukovic Maynard Brewer
Atkinson Sainsbury Degenek Good Stenseness Behich Gersbach
Mooy, Irvine, Luongo, Rogic, Devlin, Hrustic, Jeggo, Dougall.
McGree, Boyle, Leckie, Ruka, Maclaren, Juric
Leckie or Dougall can be emergency right back. Can't see Elder making it back in time. Luongo bossed his return game and was only suspended. Recall.
Probably too many centre mids but the conditions will need lots of running in both games and Oman will be tough.
Thankfully Dougall, Boyle, Leckie, McGree and Hrustic are versatile. No one in midfield who could drop to CB. God forbid our last two get injured.

Deni Juric has apparently rejected a call up due to "travel problems" according to this article. Mate of mine says the commentator said that Dinamo don't want to release him because the games aren't during a official FIFA window. https://sportske.jutarnji.hr/sn/nogomet/hnl/klubovi/dinamo/video-pet-minuta-furiozne-igre-pogledajte-prekrasan-gol-velikog-dinamovog-talenta-i-spanera-15147275

Maybe he’s not vaccinated and therefore unable to travel? His brother was pretty anti vax previously.

+xA hearts Twitter page saying devlin and atkinson not selected for the roo’s team for the upcoming WCQ. If true, it’s typical anti-progressive selections by Arnold yet again. He really thinks the SAME squad (but at least now with Mooy and Rogic) that only drew with China and Saudis & lost to Japan - can do anything significant at the actual WCUP?! FMD.

I really hope arnie is asked about him by one of the journo’s in the presser. This is the third or fourth time he’s been called up and not come. I know he’s been injured and stuff but to be totally honest I question those too. He has not publicly stated his allegiance, not at least since he said he wanted to play for Croatia.
From m perspective I just want to know where his his heart lies. If he is with us then great, stick by him. But if he’s not then don’t bother.
If we miss out on the WC then we might as well start blooding the alou kuol’s of the world rather than trying to tempt juric time and time again
