Pretty sure Mooy has been playing a bit. I feel at least our players won't come into camp totally exhausted from league and cups so far.

I wonder how much Behich can regress from training since the last camp but not playing? How much sharpness is lost when training full time but not getting 90min in 8 weeks? Same would go for Irvine and even Mooy.

Luongo can return and put in a shift like that shows we're probably going to be OK. I think Smith and Kruse under Ange were the extreme cases of not playing for 14 months and just training. 

I think they still have two weeks' quarantine in China.

At least playing in Qatar the hosts will be compelled to roll out the red carpet as the rest of the world will see it as a barometer on their preparation to host the WC itself. Disorganised shambles on a cow paddock incoming.

Yep. Thing that grinds my gears the most is they don’t announce a few days before when the squad will be announced. It’s an easy way to gather media discussion. Say, ‘squad release coming Thursday’ and a list of probables and possibles and get people talking. It’s common sense

Leckie is out of season and i really want Juric to get selected for squad and Duke is in pretty good touch
Smith might be a shout for LB but Behich brings some big game experience
Hrustic as an 8 as thats where he plays for Eintracht and i think his future is there for Aus
Mooy and Irvine arn't putting in the minutes right now so Holland is a chance to bring a bit of mid protection
Everyone else is showing enough form to do the job

Seems like Rogic is back in contention for a starting spot and none of us have said that for a while.  Form and fitness, long may it continue. He is only 28 so definitely has a few good years left in him.

Arnie was interviewed by SBS & he mentions specific players "I could have a great midfield of Mooy, Rogic & Hrustic", so it looks like he's definitely in the mix. That's an awesome attacking midfield by the way! Hope we see it 

Hrustic has been playing as No.6 with Frankfurt which is interesting so this might open up for both Rogic and Hrustic in the same midfield as long it doesnt effect the balance.

Fox football podcast Adam Peacock mentioned only 1 A League player willing to go - Rhyan Grant. the others didnt want to do hotel quarantine

Vietnam and Qatar are currently on Orange list for Europe. If either one turns red, our payers would be forced to do quarantine on return. I hope this doesnt stop any of our players from going.

Also has anyone been following the rift with the european leagues and FIFA over FIFA's ruling allowing extra 2 days for Sept international window. Euro leagues said it would mean a lot of players would miss league games. FIFA overruled this week. Now EPL and La Liga telling their teams they dont have to release players.

So many WCQ's to play in next 15 months, not sure how they'll do it. The playoff between the asian and south american team for the final WC spot will probably be played same month the Qatar tournament is on

Yeh Prem and La Liga teams wont be releasing players to go play in countries where they will need to quarantine on return. Im sure the football league will advise the same for its clubs and other leagues will follow suit
