Correct.
And well articulated CH.
The important point here is that our game isn't now in trouble.
Assessments based on National Team performances is not the measure, but an end result.
Our game was already in trouble.
Many have brought this to our attention, myself included, for the last 15 years.

The NT results and performance, all around the World, goes hand in hand with the performance of  a nations National Football Competitions and the units that make up that competition are CLUBS.
The more CLUBS a nation has that are strong in finding and developing TALENT, then moving that TALENT on to a higher level domestically or internationally, the stronger your National Team will be.
For selection in any National Team, is a process of selection, of the best performing players from CLUBS.

Whats happened to us is we have deviated from the Global Standards and adopted LOCAL standards.
The A-League, the NPL, the ALW, the AL Academies, the NTC programs, the Emerging Matildas Programs etc are NOT NORMAL FOOTBALL STANDARDS.
The National Federation and State Federations and Local Associations have invaded this space and its not their role.
When you get all this wrong, the end result is an under performing National Team. I have seen very little improvement the last 25 years.

CH/Arthur no one couldn't disagree with your posts IF your a true supporter of the game over many years.
Especially when your involved from grass roots levels to NPL.
You see it all what could be and the amount of frustration many many endure of the limitations and lack of linage bottom to top and lack of leadership and unity.
Everyone does their own thing.
Its a mess.

Its hurts big time this morn result, some here would put me in the "ol bitter" % by some comments in my posts over the years But I live for our NT and game to do well in the big picture period.
Arnold will be and is the target for many no doubt about it and I'm not standing by him blindly BUT for all the calling of throwing in XYZ players isn't going to change the course we have been on for sometime.....
I get the anger frustration with many supporters in here I feel it as well but look what we have on the park ?! what standard they are at.
Tilios/Atkinsons etc are not going to straighten the ship alone, it needs 15 of them +........

The current 433/4231 formation has had it's day
We don't have the wingers at the required level for international football but we do have some depth in midfield.
If Rogic is a guaranteed starter then we have Mooy,Irvine,Hrustic,Jeggo,Mcgree,Metcalfe fighting for 2 positions with
Devlin,Genreau and Stensness coming up.
Boyle is the only forward deserving a start and he was playing mainly as a second striker at Hibs behind Nisbet.
Tilio has potential but so does Arzani and nothings happening there.
Mabil,Ikon and Borrello can also play as second strikers and Leckie has had his day.
Mooy and Irvine are playing on the right of midfield diamonds for club and doing well and a diamond will allow us to have a specialist no 6
that will bring Loungo and Dougall back in the frame with Jeggo and Metcalfe. Not sure if Stensness is still seen a a Mid anymore or CB
i'd like to see Hrustic and Mcgree played as 2 box to box mids as they both have the engines to get up and back along with playing in the no 10
if need be.
Hopefully we can get D Juric to lead the line in the future as he'll bully defenders and draw attention like a classic no 9
True we are looking very average but we should be alot harder to beat with more numbers and speed in the middle.
May be an image of text that says 'CF Centre Forward SS Second Striker AM Attacking Mid CM Box to Box CM Box to Box DM LB Holding mid LB CB RB CB CB RB CB GK Keeper buildlineup.com'

yer its come back to bite him on the arse but lets recall, Ange left it in its lows of lows as well.
Record holder the longest route getting to the WC, from his previous WC tenure to last quali it was draining as well.

Maybe 2wrongs don't make a right - Arnold has had worse cattle I can recall but yes his selections have been questionable and tactics at critical games.
Neither can win re NT levels.

Is it worth shifting Rogic up top? I know it’s been discussed before but thought it was worth rehashing.  I’m not usually a fan of players playing out of position (particularly when they are in great form) but he is banging them in, and that leaves space for McGree/Hrustic/Mooy/Irvine etc in the middle where we are very well stocked. Arnold has always preferred taller players up top (Bobo, Janko, Duke, Simon) so maybe this will help? Getting Boyle in front of goal still prob seems the priority (or getting Taggart back on the park)

Brendon Rodgers have tried Rogic as a striker b4 and not only didn't work, that was the worst mistake Rodgers made. Rogic was terrible in that position.

I dunno Rogic as a false nine for someone like man city I think could work, asking arnie to pull off these sort tactics insanity

The refreshed Roos. I just wish this can happen sooner rather than later. This is all provided players are fit and playing well. I would imagine the competition and hunger would bring a lot of strong performing. Of course a decent coach would be needed. The good news that there are other good players not in this 23.

Volpato. Why the hell not! Yes he’s only played 3 minutes senior football but he HAS got some X factor. Bring him into Roos squad - see if he trains well enough to get some sub minutes in WCQ’s. As if Arnold has anything more to lose by trying a new young gun

Leckie's A League braces means automatic selection. Newly introduced players don't play in their 5 camps which is very frustrating.

Another ‘it’s still in our hands’ article about Arnold lol.
He says comments from critics like Bozza are just ‘white noise’. Maybe ignoring criticism from people with playing credentials is why he doesn’t learn/progress/change his methods.

I know I’m buying a tonne of lottery tickets if Roos make Qatar

If we win both game yes..but with the performance in the last 4-5 games including the win against vietnam. There r weaknesses everywhere on the field. This task is like asking man U to beat man City at home then have to beat Liverpool away.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. Now guys like king, atkinson, JRB, volpato, Juric are making genuine claims to not only be in the next squad but a half shout at starting.

Imagine in a parallel universe how much it would make the lucky remaining complacent ones work. I for one would see Atkinson, Volpato, Juric and Elder brought in immediately. Credit to Duke for working hard but Juric comes before him. Leckie, Behich and Grant are done. I'd like to think this would kick Mooy into gear along with adding Devlin and Dougall. We're totally stacked for midfield.

I don't see the point in a back 3 to get wingbacks but think Dougall and Devlin can drop back respectively when Atkinson and Elder go forward.
                     Ryan
           Sainsbury Degenek
Atkinson Dougall   Devlin  Elder
           Hrustic
                     Rogic
                Boyle  Juric

For some reason though it appears very narrow and hollow. Perhaps it's just the names. Ideally the fullbacks will be pretty high up with two top fit midfielders back in cover a lot of the time.

The only problem is no friendly or warm up game. Only have 1-2 training session for this Japan game. So U can just 4get about a combination play. Japan have the same problems with timing but they have far superior skills than us. Most of our players can't even do a basic first touch like Irvine and degenek etc.

I would’ve started him against Vietnam. No risk no reward. That’s why we won’t make it to Qatar.

The only problem is no friendly or warm up game. Only have 1-2 training session for this Japan game. So U can just 4get about a combination play. Japan have the same problems with timing but they have far superior skills than us. Most of our players can't even do a basic first touch like Irvine and degenek etc.

there are times players can link up pretty easy as well, you see it and think wtf they hardly know each other.
Combo's just seem to click, you never know uless your thrown in the deep end.

Correct Dan - I've mentioned elswhere we're so conservative.
No risk no reward - I wouldn't bat an eyelid throwing him in and others.
Look at Spain at the Euros, had 2/3 (maybe 4) under 20 players that we saw in the Olympics as well.
Though Arnie will pick the usual and play safe.
