Petratos provides a lot of forward momentum, he's not really one for passing backwards all the time, so I think he's exactly what we need. It might lead to him losing the ball more than our other players, but he also creates more chances. It's hard to compare him to Leckie and Kruse because we don't know how different they'll be under Bert and if Kruse will start being more attacking minded in the new system.

also kruse has played a full season of club football for the first time in 4 years so no one knows how well he will play

I think the form of Borello is better than Kruse ? is it not ?

As someone mentioned, Petratos played with no fear at all. This was a huge bonus for me if we need him in the squad for the WC.

It was good to see him actually impact the game and get a few good balls in, he was linking up well.

But again, Jedi for me has no fucking clue how to read opportunities in attack. Also, doesn't have the toolset to actually act on any counter by passing accurately.

And yep, as someone said - we're still so used to playing Ange ball that we ended up having probably too much possession in the end.

I think we need to absorb more attack from the other team. If we play defense like th@ we will not go very far either. It'll be an ass kicking to nothing

This is the best Celtic XI with Rogic.

Think we can use this to tailor a formation to the strengths of Rogic ?

I think Milligan is very similar player to Scott Brown when you give him a little bit of freedom to go forward.

Luongo obviously playing well , in to pair with Milligan in th@ twin DM .

Obviously we don't have a striker near as good as Dembele, even Griffiths. But fill that in with Juric

Nabbout for me is close enough to Sinclair , quite quick and can change direction and get a shot or pass off.

We don't have direct enough wingers for sure, but Izaguuirre and Gamboa are close enough to Behich.. hmm perhaps Risdon.

I think if Riso was to become a solid player he could learn a fair bit from Behich, pretty much just needs to become quicker

Here's another one, with a slower RB Lustig.

Twin DM pairing again with Rogic sitting in front of the striker. Dropping into th@ hole, this is where we often see him screaming for the ball then collect and turn and run. Feeding in the wingers in , in most cases. Then collecting it back / linking up again. I'm wondering if we see this enough in the NT?

I'd like to see nabbouts take on stats and defensive stats

There was someone taking players on all the time on his side but wasn't sure if it  Luongo behich or nabbout

I think Luongo at his best is our best player. He is more mobile than mooy or rogic stronger in defense and on his day is similar on the ball. It's new tactics so let's not right off having the big 3 play together until the new coach doe

Was it you who asked the same question last night? If I recall all 3 were on the left and all gave it a good go. Nabbout got around the most while Luongo lingered behind and got through gaps. Behich was fed by Degenek and had the chance to run on the ball.

Luongo turned one bloke in midfield and the Colombian fans were impressed.

There were moments when Rogic was pretty free in that position. We either didn't get it off to him or when he got it and turned he got rushed really quickly.

Can't wait for the Japan Colombia game to see if the swift Japanese can weave past the Colombian rush. Kagawa, Honda and Kiyotake pirouette better than a Russian figure skater.

It looked like we had a glider down that side but couldn't tell who was who! If it was nabbout beating players then he may have poked his nose ahead of kruse

If you see Nabbout's A-league games, he gets rocket shots off that often hit the net.

The Norway game and against Columbia, he's had a couple of cracker shots which were not from the typical Oar/Ruka/Kruse positions.

I'm impressed enough by what I've seen so far (enough to warrant more testing) I think if he gets a slightly better angle or position he'll grab a goal.

His attempts have been a lot different to previous wingers we've had in Burns and etc.

They look like the type of shots that are hmmm, don'y know how to put it - made more from the flow of game and good possession build up than forced out of poor fundamentals or the product of such. (if that makes sense, i.e. Kruse or Oar head down trying to control an out of control ball heading for where ever it lands next)

More so opportunistic strikes when the ball arrives in an area he knows he can make something out of it.

Again, not direct as you would like it but effective enough to be pretty pleased he's made something out of flow of play/ a situation.

The one major difference I think where Nabbout stands out from any previous wingers is just sheer raw power.

I'm happy with this , I wish Ibini was around the NT setup ? Another player who had that gift/explosiveness..

Nabbout has drive and strength. Definitely tough for Kruse to get back in front after Nabbout got two starts.

I'm really starting to think that perhaps Borello would be better on the wing for Rogic, even Petratos , instead of Leckie.

I just sincerely believe it would produce more goal mouth opportunities. Provide better passing combinations, perhaps lanes and options.

Huge issue with Kruse and Leckie is the linking in with Rogic.

The front combinations are nothing like Leckie and Kruse watching Celtic w/ Rogic.

It is much much DIFFerent/better watching Celtic, forwards are always passing around the box. Not just lumping it in.

like this:

---------------Jedinak--------Luongo---------------
-------Borello-------------------------Nabbout-----
------------------------Rogic--------------------------

---------------------------Juric------------------------

In the Columbia game we had 7 shots w/ only 1 on target. We need to see something different happenning in front.

Good to see Atkinson, Borello, Dougal and Arzani in the extended squad. Haven't heard much about Mabil for a bit, so would be interesting to see if he gets some time in the friendlies.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this in one of the friendlies
After Juric went off we really struggled for an outlet to relieve pressure. Cahill offers nothing in general play and if we don't have 60% posession
like against Honduras and Syria it's pointless playing him. Our general play looks better with Juric when we have 50% or less
Get Rogic out of the midfield battle and up where he can do the most damage and not burn himself out. Playing more inside may allow Aziz to run the channel.
I'd like to see Mass and Jackson play like they did against Chile. Similar to O'neill and Brilliante at Syd. Own the centre with energy and speed and allow Mooy to pull the strings. Both can cover for Aziz if he's caugh forward
the 3 in the middle can move around pretty fluidly so if Irvine or Mass goes for a sortie Mooy will just slip in to keep the shape.
RB still and issue.

Our advantage is we have lots of versatile players. Milligan, Jedinak and Williams double as midfielders and defenders. Jedinak as a defender is an absolute last resort but the squad should have good balance.

Looks like Amini, Jeggo and Hrustic are completely off the radar. Shame about Ikon but let him get established and maybe he'll make it to the UAE.
