Hi

Don't want my post to come across as an advertisement, but i am currently developing a football app for mobile use and would love any feedback. The app is an in-game stat collection tool for parents and coaches. Parents can track their child's actions during the game and coaching staff can use to track team stats. There are over 40 action modules that can be turned off/on depending on the actions you wish to collect. The App is called Benchtech Mobile and is available in the iTunes store for FREE https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id1145980862
The android version coming soon. For more information you can visit our Facebook page @Benchtech or visit our website http://www.benchtechsports.com.au/#home look forward to any feedback.

A gentle reminder, soccer is a game, played mostly by kids in THEIR independent leisure time, and predominantly for enjoyment. WTF makes you think a kid wants or needs to have his/her stats collected by an obsessive parent under the guise that such stats will improve their game?

What are you going to do with the collected stats? Present a post match report card via PDF to all interested U9/4's stakeholders? Post on social media? Confront and beat up your kid's coach who took on the job 'cos he drew the short straw? Emai your kids stats to the Barca academy? Or, even worse, watch on as your kid is being coached by some dude with his head buried in his iPhone but clueless on how to teach or correct technique?

Everyone's looking for a silver bullet solution to the dire state of youth development in this country. Our current fucked up state is directly attributeable to white collar pen pushing blow-in wankers who have no genuine feel or connection to the game. These modern day fucktards grew up with a PlayStation in one hand and their cock in the other, and are now marketing themselves as Sockah gurus who know all the secrets and eat theory and TLA's for breakfast.

Enough is enough.

Wow..our target market isn't the 9-4's but wow wow. Thanks for the feedback or rant, it is a broad tool for coaches and players and as you said not for 9-4s. Not sure what your background is in football is, but we have over 40 years collective experience as either professional players, administrators, coaches, club owners or player managers so we think stats can be useful. In addition our club platform which is more detailed is being piloted by Ajax, IFK Goteborg, AGF, Midtjylland, Braga, Gumaraes and Pacos for their junior teams (ages 12-17 years) not 9-4s- they also think data can be helpful. But thanks for the feedback.

I'm convinced, you and your app are awesome, however it does leave me wondering why you felt the need to come to little old here, with a flyer written by a 10 year old, to promote software that is already a world wide mega success. BTW, love your web site:

I'm not sure what the rant was?

Ajax and Braga are pretty impressive clubs though.

Personally, I don't like phone apps, but I'm a bit of a technophobe. Overuse of technology is probably one reason I've  stopped coaching, but technology seems to be becoming prevalent in football.

What is the feedback from Ajax and Braga?

What is the feedback from Ajax and Braga?

Both clubs use a broader iPad version, currently Ajax are using it with their youth sides and semi-professional in the region with a total of just over 4300 players. Their main focus is chance creation so all other modules that don't relate are not tracked. Braga on the other hand is very interesting their focus with the 12-16s youth teams is passing (forward) and from which zones these passes occur and success%. Each club is quite different each with their own philosophy and focus modules. Essentially what these clubs are using it for is to construct and collate detail databases. On a different level coaching staff is using it to identify trends that may or may not underline the player's development within the coaching philosophy or team structure.
At the moment for Braga we are trying to tailor a worksheet that is more specific to their needs. All the modules that Ajax use are locked on. Feedback has been good from both clubs, however they are constantly providing feedback on how to improve user experience.
