Ange is the best coach at a league level so not sure this makes much sense as arnie would be in the same boat. Nice troll though

Arnie said he didnt want to be involved with the national team again, so why would we go from extreme to another based on style of play.

Yes. Replacing the coach with the second lowest win rate since we joined Asia with the coach who had the lowest win rate since we've joined Asia (and the lowest of any coach since the 70s) is a good plan.

I would have said finishing 7th last year should be taken in to consideration lol.
The next Socceroos coach will be either Muscat or Aloisi, while that latter name has done nothing at a club level to even justify being mentioned in this context he is (a) very popular with the suits at the ffa (b) extremely marketable which the suits will like (c) technically a very good coach (a better TD than head coach imo but I'm not a suit) (d) very credible at international level. In the first three areas he wipes the floor with Muscat who can only point (as he should) to his club record .... I recon the change is coming this winter and those in line already know what to expect either Muscat in and Aloisi to Victiry or Aloisi in. Either way Roar will be needing a new coach lol

I think also after his run in with Frank over expansion he would be considered too outspoken and a potential loose cannon at FFA hq.
He has basically alienated himself to the entire country except SFC and Gosford. He is not popular nor liked.it would be much easier to get another person from overseas who would receive more respect from the greater football public.

In the A League sydney FC have the 2 highest foulers in Grant and Brillante. No way would they stay on the pitch in WCQ. So the Arnie game plan is not suited to WCQ.

Arnie should be next after this World Cup cycle.
For those thinking his previous spell as national coach rules him out, he was a much less experienced coach, coaching players he had played with himself. Since then he has had a decade of coaching experience.
For the sake of perspective, that was in 2007, the same year as the youth tournament that Ange failed to qualify for that led to the infamous Ange vs Foster bust up.
The other crucial thing is a his consistent tactical style suits Australian football at international level. Ange is a dreamer without the cattle.
Also, Langerak = legend.

+x+x+xArnie knows how to keep a clean sheet, you have to admit that. We are no world beaters when it comes to international football so a well drilled defensive unit is what we need to succeed on the world stage. Furthermore, this season with Sydney FC has shown Arnie's team can win while keeping possession and dominating play, and while sitting back and hitting on the counter, a versatility that is useful for internationals. I think Ange should stay for the remainder of his contract, but Arnie's Sydney FC are showing a lot of the qualities I'd currently like to see in the NT. You cant compare the mickey mouse nature of our domestic comp to the cuthroat nature of world cup qualifying. I'm not really comparing them though, I'm stating that Arnie knows how to coach a team to be versatile, and we need a team that can keep a clean sheet. Ange kept a bucket load of clean sheets at brisbane, has no relevance really, this is another level of football.

A key part of arnies play is high press and delivers fouls to stop counters. Won't work with proper refs

This far into the qualifying stage might be to much. The Socceroo's haven't lost a game yet and the FFA are broke - plus coming 3rd gets the FFA extra revenue with more home games.
