Mitch Langerak – 7: Pulled off two vital saves and marshalled his goal with authority. May have done more to prevent Iraq’s goal, yet still the reason Australia left with a point.

Milos Degenek – 5:
Looked the most vulnerable of the back three. Lucky not to have given away a penalty for handball with 20 minutes remaining.

Mark Milligan – 4.5:
Resposnible for a number of last-ditch clearances but was punished with a goal for vacating the centre.

Bailey Wright – 6:
Milligan played the sweeper role, but Wright often pushed into midfield and provided and extra number. Dealt with offensive threats well enough and was left stranded when Iraq equalised.

Massimo Luongo – 5:
Screened midfield alongside Jedinak. Got forward in the box to box role but his delivery and decision-making left a lot to be desired. More expected from a classy player.

Mile Jedinak – 5:
Often went sideways. Okay without being at all impressive.

Aaron Mooy – 7:
Looked a little off but his inviting corner which was dispatched by Mat Leckie was reflective of a man at the top of his game.

Jackson Irvine – 7.5:
Took his chance in a more advanced midfield role. Was switched on and involved with just about every play. Did fade somewhat before being replaced in the final 10 minutes.

Robbie Kruse – 4:
Crossing was underwhelming again and touch was off, highlighted by a fluffed sitter towards the end of the first half. He must improve or risks exclusion because he is simply not delivering what a winger should. Replaced by Smith.

Mat Leckie – 6:
Bulleted home a header from a Mooy corner to open the scoring. Toiled but was not incisive on the left-hand side. Like Kruse, he needs to provide more.

Tomi Juric – 5.5:
Quiet early but was more involved after going ahead, and his confidence took a notable shot to the arm. Held up the play well.

Substitutes

Brad Smith – 5.5:
Hugely involved after coming on, but was unable to provide a telling ball.

Tim Cahill – N/A:
Not able to make an impact.

James Troisi – N/A:
Contributed one promising burst forward but that fizzled out.

Agree with this except that Langerak was australian MOTM for me.  I would give irvine the 7 and langerak the 7.5

Also agree with kruse being woeful again.  A man that is out of touch and out of practice.  If that is not warning enough for ange to stop with the rot of picking bench warmers then he has rocks in his head.  200 club minutes in 2 years should not be anywhere near the NT.

I have to say outside 90 are fast becoming the best source for NT analysis.  They seem to avoid the stuffy and dated positions that other commentary teams have taken on the team and players.

Unconscionable to rate Kruse 4.5 and Mooy 7 without even mentioning Mooy in front of an open goal making an absolute mess of Kruse's perfectly good cross.

Not the biggest Mike fan but you cant knock his composure in that game. Worth more than a 5 because of his play in the last 20 minutes.

Aye. Mike was very composed.

And Aaron Mooy didn't do enough for a seven. Leaving aside fluffing that chance up, he went missing for ages and just wasn't all that sharp. The contrast between his tenacity and that of of Jackson Irvine against Iraq was huge.

Langerak motm for me.
Although Irvine was impressive and I hope he starts on Tuesday.
Was also impressed with Leckie, first 20-30 minutes he lacked composure. But came into the game and scored a great goal, thereafter his confidence looked so much better when passing and taking on his man.
There was one instance where he should have taken the shot rather than attempting to pass to mooy near the six yard box.

Yeah I liked Leckie quite a lot, was good on the ball, and great to see him score.

No chance Mooy had a better game than Jedinak, or even close to as good as Irvine. Irvine was the best, Leckie, Langerack, Mile and Juric were serviceable and the rest are lucky our depth is limited and so is most of our opposition in Asia

Don't worry - the ratings never bear any relationship to the game - just to the press favourites at the time.

Thank you. I could not watch the game live so it is excellent to be able to watch it now.
Just finished the first half.
I thought the best three were Langerak, Wright and Irvine in no particular order although in no way was Irvine "immense" as stated above. He did make a number of errors.

The rest were generally pretty solid, did some good things, missed some passes but no one terrible, not even Kruse who perhaps was the worst.
Leckie did not do much apart from the goal.
Mooy started well but then missed too many passes but still provided the assist
Luongo got a lot of the ball from the back, more as the half progressed and was okay with his passing without doing much.
Jedinak does some good defence including a good header in the box but did not really see a lot of the ball with Loungo collecting it from the back three.
Juric did some good hold up play a few times and provided the excellent pass for Kruse but did not look sharp enough around the box.

Langerak 8 Made good saves, not sure he should have gone to ground for the goal but I highly doubt he was going to get accross and stop the goal anyway even if he had stayed on his feet and tried.
Irvine, Jedinak 7 Irvine was the best midfielder by a little bit for most of the game, Jedinak's last ten minutes gets him the extra point.
Wright 6.5 Thought he was very good in the first half, made some mistakes at the start of the second but then played well until the end
Milligan, Degenek, Luongo, Mooy, Leckie 6 Milligan and Degenek were solid, Luongo did his job, Leckie scored the goal but didn't do much apart from that. Mooy made a lot of mistakes but saw heaps of the ball and was involved in a lot of attacks, certainly can play a lot better.
Juric 5 Was okay the first half, came out after half time and ran around for a while like a headless chicken and then completely disappeared from the game.
Kruse 4.5 Just not himself, was our worst player despite trying very hard, nothing worked for him apart from the cross to Mooy. Hopefully consistent game time in China can get his game back together.

The fans . Kruse a 0 ? Mooy a 7 ..... people need to go back and watch the game again and see how many times our midfield of jedinak llungo Irvine and mooy lost the ball. A thousand times. Kruse lays a sitter for mooy yet kruse is still attacked. Kruse goes off they score and he gets attacked . We were shit when kruse went off. We had nothing. This team realise on kruse for everything. How do people not see this. Without kruse we would be even worse.

maybe too kind to mooy, probably only a 6. but kruse is lucky to get a 0. (and he's one of my favorite oz players, just horrifically out of form).

Agree, pretty harsh on Kruse and Mooy wasn't great and should have left the free to Jedi.
It's hard to give anyone more or less than a 6 because I reckon they were a bit at sea with the formation and the condition of the pitch. Even Langers, I bet his feet were slipping on the surface coming out for their goal and would usually get to the ball.
The one person we can rate is Ange with his selections, formation and tactics to give us an advantage for the conditions and the opposition and I thought he got very little right tbh.
