The long and short of it is that Queensland does not deserve important games to be played there.

You can't call Docklands terrible and advocate for Adelaide Oval in the same post.

It was a post meant to include everyone except for QLD to get a reaction from Waz.

Adelaide Oval is atrocious for football and I'd never attend a game there again.

Why would we want to expand it?  30k is all we ever need.  The football need in Sydney will not be bigger stadiums but another couple in the 20-30k range for the extra top tier clubs we will end up with.

Well it'd be nice for it to be able to expand to 40k or whatever the World Cup group stage minimum is, I'm 30 and I'm still holding onto hope of hosting one here before I die.

It will be an impressive 30k venue but never more than that. Australia's Steepest Stands = can never build additional tiers. Simply impossible under regs.

I dont think it will vary too much from this design. It is 6 months old but I would be surprised if there is radical change. "Australia's steepest stands" incoming

No Socceroos World Cup qualifiers in Brisbane since 2012!!  That is a joke.  Suncorp would've gone very, very close to selling out this game due to its importance.  Imagine a fever pitch 50k home crowd in a huge game at the best venue in the country (when full).

Screw the FFA and screw the Queensland Government for showing no appetite whatsoever to get these games to Queensland.

Have a look at your own corrupt government and answers you shall find. Nobody, if given the choice, actually volunteers to host their events in Brisbane and have your shitty government skim profits through transport levies and such. Maybe if Suncorp was a competitive venue it would be chosen, but as it stands get fucked QLD

There are plans and sections around on the Wanderers fans forum.  Approval shouldn't be far away because the public comment period finished a couple of months ago and the response to the comments was published recently.

Townsville and the Gold Coast? What? We are playing against a team from the tropics. We should play in a cooler place like Melbourne to take every advantage we can get, not try to play in conditions that will suit our opponent. By all means play a qualifier up north but do so against Japan or China or Korea where the climate won't give them a boost

Bigger footballing countries than us take climactic advantage in their home games. Your reasoning is very sound.

Only if that bidding doesn't lead to WCQ games at Etihad/MCG which are terrible. Once all of Sydney's stadium upgrades/WSW new Stadium is completed the FFA will have perfect stadiums across the country for matches.

- ANZ rectangular (80k)
- Parramatta Stadium (30k)
- Aami Park (30k)
- NIB (20K)
- Adelaide Oval (50k) (not perfect but the SA government seem committed and at least the pitch is good).

Really most of the games could be played out of either of the Sydney stadiums but I doubt the FFA would be keen for that.

Friendlies can go around the country.

You can't call Docklands terrible and advocate for Adelaide Oval in the same post.

It wouldn't matter where we play it people never stop whinging. If it means so much to you get in a car or on a plane .

That's the thing.  People from Brisbane like yours truly have been getting in cars and planes throughout this whole WCQ campaign.  Would be a nice change to catch local transport to a Socceroos game.  I mean, it's only the third largest city in the country.

Best venue in the country should have more than 30000 seats

I agree but to add more seats would only make the the inferior Melbourne teams home games look more atrocious on television. We need to let them catch up then we talk about upgrading AAMI Park.

The Socceroos are just prostitutes. Deal with it.

FFA are the pimp, and they've got a stable of 11.

You can get a Russian, Indonesian, Chinese or even a Middle Eastern beauty for the right price.

There's even a budget Pom, but she'll go anywhere for a trick, even Canberra

It is the best stadium by a long way for football.Crowd will only be 24-25,000 though, which is half of what they would get in Sydney, I think Brisbane would get 40,000 but a harder  sell in an NRL home state.

That wouldn't sound so much like BS if we didn't have two rectangular stadiums in Townsville and the Gold Coast that have perfect playing surfaces.

I admire you Queenslanders for your passion. But you just need to realise one thing. You have a dog shit pitch that'll cause more problems for our qualification than anything else could. Best leave Socceroos games to the states with adequate to spectacular playing surfaces. Better yet come down and watch...don't mind a bit of Queenslander money injected into our economy.
