Well, WBBL got 386,000 and 442,000 for their games last night, the main football match got 136,000 or about a third.

And then another 95,000 tuned in to a foreign game and another 101,000 tuned in to the two remaining games.

In total 332,000 watched football on tv on Saturday. The message to the FFA is the viewers are there, even when you f’ck up your own product, the question is how do they connect with them?

I’d say pretty much everything they’ve been doing for the last 1-2 years is the opposite of what was required.

Been saying it for a while, there was nothing particularly wrong with SBS coverage, problem is HAL is stale and people are getting tired of the constant recycling of players & don't want to see pensioners lolling about on the pitch. I wonder how FFA view metrics when ratings are down across the board,by a significant amount?
I also wonder how the congress assess the efforts of FFA?
Could the current board of FFA ever do anything that would justify there sacking?

What?  As the AFLW is listed separately, it would imply its already subtracted?

Definitely would be that, doubt most Australians would be tweeting when the game is in the middle of night.

Perhaps because the "branding" is more heavily based in the top clubs rather than the "EPL" 

And if you subtract the AFLW from the AFL they'd almost certainly drop below the A League

It's interesting that the EPL doesn't figure, as you would assume that it is far more popular than the American sports.

Plenty of people are only really interested in their team.  For that you need to pay for Fox.  Games you aren't interested in on FTA are neither here nor there.

It was more astonishment that someone didn't know the league was on FTA.

Foxtel pays for sports to be internationally competitive. If sports dont get their pay day, we slip behind international powerhouses.

I seen on ten last night they are promoting the shit out of the double header of WBBL this Saturday night.
This is going head to head with our glamour fixture of the Sydney derby but you wouldn't know about it.

It will be interesting to see the numbers stack up.
