+x+x+x+x5th October away10th October home Venues tbd Hopefully Brisbane doesn't get it. Queensland Govt don't want and Suncorp doesn't need Soccer matches This will not bring in any overseas money to the local economy It will be left to Sydney and Melbourne to waste taxpayers cash on a dick measuring contest p and r will fix this True, Winning the League would've meant earning the chance to play in a higher level of competition

+xIt really sucks that we have to play Syria, I wanted Syria to qualify, it would've been huge for their country, considering what's going on in their country The Syrian team represent the Assad regime. Still a good effort by them to get this far, I suppose.

Make the Syria leg in Melbourne or Adelaide. Make the CONCAF leg in Sydney

It will be interesting to see where the US plays panama, hilarious backlash from last weekends game against Costa Rica being in New Jersey where the yank fans were outnumbered, and the Costa Rican population is small! They're now saying every US game should be in some hipster heartland like Portland or redneck areas haha.

+x+xPanama up one nil v Trinidad and Tobago... not looking good for the US They should be fine. With a home game against Panama and then T&T in the last round while Honduras have Costa Rica and Mexico and Panama have the US and Costa Rica Yeah with the terrible GD that Honduras have and being a point behind, Panama are probably going to be the team. Watched a bit on ESPN, would be an interesting playoff.

+xNot sure where the Syria game will be, but I'd be surprised if it was Sydney, as they'll definitely get the home concacaf leg if we get that far. Aami is probably the most suitable venue for Syria, or Suncorp as they should be able to get a decent pitch seeing as though there will only be 1 game of league on it between now and then. No more in Melbourne when qualification is on the line. We seem to bottle it every time.

+x+x+xSuncorp will be a goat track can we at least play it on a decent surface. With the Bronco's finishing 5th in the NRL, at most there will be one game on it between now and the Syrian qualifier. Ample time to get the ground in top shape for the 10th October. huh? They finished 3rd? In principle they can have a home game on the 23rd so yes plenty of time That's because Decentric doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Does anybody know when or where (which stadium) in Malaysia the away game will be ? If it is near KL I might be able to get work to fly me there to check on my oversea team.
Full trophy cabinet (but yours looks a bit empty) ! Reigning BACK2BACK 442 A League and World Cup (Mens and Womens) Tipping Champion - so yeap, I do know best !

This qualifying could honestly have just gotten easier. Syria and Honduras (maybe) will both have to be somewhat attacking. These are 2 leg knockout games not a full table, you cant sit back both legs. That'll give us faster ball movement, more space and hopefully better options in the final third. I'll stay optimistic :hehe:

Nah, play this game in Brisbane, then the decider against CONCACEF in Sydney! We (Brisbane) haven't had a qualifier in years.

It wont happen but id like to see us go to a 4231 away against syria with a focus on holding the ball up in the front third and getting midfielders up to support either Juric or cahill' Obviously there are a number of weeks before this game and a lot can happen in that time but:
----------------------------Langerak--------------------------------- Milligan---------Sainsbury----------Spira--------------Gersbach ----------------------Irvine-------------Mooy--------------------------- Kruse---------------------Rogic----------------------------Goodwin -----------------------------Juric---------------------------------------
I've aimed for defensive strength but also with guys technically good enough to damage the syrians in the final third. Ideally allowing Rogic more space to operate in.
At home i'd risk a little more and aim to get on the front foot from the outset:
------------------------------Ryan----------------------------------- Leckie------------Sains--------------Spira--------------Gersbach ---------------------milligan-----------mooy----------------------- Troisi----------------------------------------------------------Kruse ----------------------Maclaren-------Juric--------------------------
I feel by inverting troisi and kruse they'll have the ability to come in and strike on their more natural foot while opening up the space in behind for both leckie and gersbach to exploit and hopefully god willing get decent service into the box.
If we can then get the lead we need at home we can sacrifice juric or maclaren, play on the counter and utilise another midfielder like luongo or irvine to protect the lead.
Also a goodwin type winger to replace kruse and give us a bit more protection in wider areas.
Pie in the sky stuff though, i fully expect more of the same bullshit
