Watched most of Ryan's games and really hasn't done too much wrong this season for Brighton. Fair enough he hasn't been spectacular but really he hasn't had lots of chances. His early save against Newcastle was a quality late reaction save though.
Probably the concern with Brighton is that they sit deep and defend deep. So maybe he isn't marshaling the defence well enough for the coach's like?? Although he still started ahead of Krul and kept a clean sheet, so can't have too many complaints.
I have noticed that the defensive unit seems to be playing better now ... start of the season the defenders really seemed more keen on trying to play keeper than go to the man on the ball. Not sure if they were still very much in Championship mode and needed a while to step up.
Hopefully Ryan makes the most of having Krul there with him ... Krul has lots of EPL experience and also was the Dutch number 2 for many years. Also considering Newcastle was Krul's first pro team (and previous team) you would have thought he would have been first pick. Krul still not that old (for a keeper) so good competition there for Ryan. Hopefully he continues to impress.
