We can shut down that topic about clubs most embarrassing promotions now I guess, this wins.
Tell you what though, if Lowy and Gallop had the guts to do a walk out to the middle of the ground in the Sydney darby fully dressed up as the emperor and Vader with that evil empire music playing... It would almost redeem it.

LMAO forgot about this. Fuck they're excited I wonder what's stated in their contract. Obligations to do such things. Embarrassing. Same with England and the many campaigns they have. Is there some contractual obligation? I would imagine participating in marketing and helping partners of the club would be fairly standard in a contract. They don't have to necessarily say "You must dress as a pirate once a season". The Mariners tend to do something for our lifesavers which is nowhere near as cringey as this but would be in the same boat. Also the standard contract in Australia lists your role requirements to include the arbitrary "Any other task the employer deems reasonable to perform"

It’s almost like the FFA is trying to cause a meltdown in their fan base.

This is the greatest thing to ever happen in my life. Two of my loves are together at last. Now there just needs to be naked women and it'd mean I've died and gone to heaven.

+xIts not just the money hungry commercially driven metrics based crap that we see time and time again that infuriates me Its that trying to cash in on Star wars is small change compared to the substantial money lost by having 3 of the 5 biggest clubs suffering as a result of the current system. And truckloads of cash turned away from CFG in the name of fairness. Not to mentioned what was lost by storming away from SBS and going to channel 10 Ruining our game for money is one thing. Ruining our game to be no better off (and in many instances worse off) is sabotage I think we know what you think about the salary cap by now. To have any relevance to this thread is an incredibly long bow.

The J League had a monkey on a chain present the match ball to the referee recently. So maybe we haven’t stooped all that low yet lol. The stadium was half-full and the the monkey looked thoroughly unimpressed.

I'm one for the timing of this. I don't care that we have a Star Wars round. Try anything to generate interest. But since I have just been reading about the Marrone outcome (not trying to bring that discussion in here), wondering yet again how Simon's violent behaviour towards another player in the same incident was not an immediate red card, disliking the handball VAR fiasco, loathing the increase in uncarded professional fouls, and really disliking the way the world and our sport are heading - I find that a Star Wars round just highlights how much the focus of our governing body is off. Feels like selling fairy floss at a funeral.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.
