+x+xthanks christ Okunbor is gone - never ever to return in my view - he is not a footballer's bootlace He wasn't too bad last season, defence and turning and chasing kicks always a problem. In the lower grades he played sometimes in tbe forwards and was ok. I would try him occasionally off the bench as a player who could cover forwards and backs. Transition him back to being a forward, unless he shows he ca n handle wing. Baz shouldn't have picked him last gsme, that type of selection doesn't help the player. His defence has always been a problem. He really is not a winger in my view, too slow on the uptake, bad hands, every other back can step him easily. He was originally a backrower and I reckon that is his only chance in the NRL. A big body, run straight and hard, with a decent 1/2 and 5/8 he could be what Kikau and the likes are. Flanagan is a park footballer, he has had his chances and has proved he is not up to it. Follow Daddy to his next coaching job and be the water boy.

With lockdowns in sight why not call it off ASAP and just play the 8 team final series with a bit of twigging. Get it over before the whole competition is locked down. Drastic, yeah but good for the Dogs. Singo is (or was) a great operator and maybe have the ear of PVL.

Not sure PVL would forego 40 X $2m plus give the AFL a free kick for 5 weeks. But, having said that, who can tell where the Delta virus is going to end up. Ultimately the states have to treat it as a public health issue while the NRL is all about saving the comp & revenue. It's all on a knife edge as the playing group have shown they can't be trusted on a number of occasions & the NRL hasn't been able to control them.

I think the NRLs focus is more about maintaining their money sources rather than losing out to competitor sports.... Where you are right is that they wouldnt be foregoing broadcaster payments just to fast track finals....

Really enjoyed Australia v Germany in the Olympic Hookey, great showcase for the game I used to play. First time in ages, I wish I was still playing. Most pleasing a player gets drilled, which is like getting hit by a cricket ball bowled by a quick. They always get up and play on with a minimum of fuss, and they always get zero sympathy from their teammates.

I worked with a bloke back in the 80’s played Hockey at a high level.
Had no f***in’ teeth, hockey injury. Not from the ball, from a stick.

No it is amazing how little players complain, and some players are also dangerous lunatics. The differnce between league is fewer blows to the head. If the ball is travelling fast towards your head a natural instinct is to duck. Head knocks are the worst part of playing league. I am also noticing more head clashes in soccer these days, 2 players going to head the same ball. Some are just as bad as head clashes in league.

I did enjoy watching that game last night, it is very skilful.
Tell me, has there been a rule change regarding corners. I seem to remember there were penalty corners and a longer type. Ball goes out the back off a defender the attacker gets it on the… quarter, if that’s what it’s called… Didn’t that used to be a long corner?

I thought that German copped it in the nuts on first viewing too, went so quick.
In fact the Aussie goal off the penalty corner I never seen the ball at all.

I thought 5 team semis were a joke but you are 100% correct...large negative points differential for against and losing several more games than a team has won is just plain mediocre.

The Kennel has a rumour that Cheese is coming to the dogs. I normally don’t take much notice of the bullshit from there. But this came from the same poster that announced TPJ and Dufty before it happened.
It does make sense that he signs with us. And would be nice after one of the worst seasons I have watched.

Yes when I played there used to be long corners, now it is a hit from the 20. They also allow more scoop shots hitting long passes in the air, that would have suited me. Good players can drag-flick a ball faster than they can hit it, and faster than a fast bowler can bowl a ball. One of the jobs I used to do was charging out on short corners towards those drag-flick shots, it is scary everytime and you get hit sometimes.

I will be happy if we get the Cheese, I'll be surprised if if we can afford the Cheese, and even happier if he comes for 22. Seems a bit too good to be true to me. I also hope he is coming for the challenge, not for the money.

A big money offer would certainly help. But I would be surprised if his motivation to prove he is a great rake wouldn’t come into calculations.
I also think that Gould would pay big money for him. Remember he payed up big at Penrith for Tamou. And at the Warriors for AFB.

Grant can play 80, so the Cheese could be sequeezed out. Overlooked in our loss to the Tits Chris Patolo went much better 2nd time around, probably better than Atoni. Our young players, Averillo, Schoupp, Doorey, BBO and Patolo are a big positve this year. Jackson, Thompson and Hetherington also good more often than not. If we do get The Cheese (or another good hooker) the squad is shaping up nicely for 22, and I'll be glad if I never see Napa, Hoppa and Britt in the Dogs side again.

He can force an attitude change. We so need him.

I questioned him originally when we signed him last year from Manly. Didnt see anything in him there and certainly not with us. If anything, he was blocking the pathway for Schuster and Olakuatu...so manly probably loving that he's gone

Ok so we are playing the Tigers this week and have no Flanno or JOK....
We are either going to win or make Mbye look like a Dally M contender.....

Probably one of our better chances for a win. No Thompson is the big issue. Toss a coin, we might need a bit of luck.

+xI just watched Snakes on a Plane... Dont ask me why. You cant un-watch that shit..... Back after posting some rant about Paul Gallen then deleting the post hung over around 9 or so in the morning. Not good after 18 XXXX Bitter, me miso says 12 is plenty but got woke up pissed as early to me fricken scrubby who regularly tries to catch my chooks pre dawn. I now have let one I call Sam Walker loose in the lower pen where the fucker can not run away. But in Origin will name another chook Sam Walker and he can live in relative safety. After origin next year he can tell his fricken story to me mate Perry, that's the python who also has taken a liking to XXXX Rooster in sticky sauce with a beer chaser... Shit ya not, he loves beer. We must be related So ole mate Lachie Lewis is on the outer not really getting that when ya getting beat by shit loads maybe stiffen up ya defence pretty boy Barrett. Kyle Flano is about as tough as me 5 year old short sleeve flanos. Could rip through him with a blunt rubber knife. Off to Cronulla ya go. Been there nice beach. No XXXX on tap though. So hope ya's are all well with the Toyota Corona Virus, stay safe Up the Doggies and just thought bout a quiz toughest bulldog eva? Jason Hethrington Pound for pound a fricken rock. Cement and Tezza Lamb though legends. Any Hoo QUEENSLANDER and DOGS OF WAR 2022 Marki come up the Cape ... Snakes on Marki would be a Tok Tok vid we could post here they are just sausage dogs without legs. And really do have different personalities. Would fix the mouse plague down south quicker than a XXXX down me throat Anyways Bulldogs fans always welcome up here for fishing, 4WD or just drinking beer (south of the Jardine River) and a BBQ and the odd home made cracker night

Folkes up there for toughness, especially mental toughness.
In the current team, Jacko is a legend. Poor Jacko is great player playing a weak team.
22 is shaping up, I am glad that he may be able to end his career on a higher note.
