Dman the medical evidence is quite clear.

As for Omicron being milder that is generally true, but the evidence isn't strong.

The evidence is that vax makes a bjg difference and it is also likely that the other strains are lying dormant or new strains might happen.

Why people with no medical experise and knowledge question highly trained and knowledgeable experts is beyond me.

In my case I've done science at uni, I know people who have studied medicine and I asm a walking pin cushion having had every jab known to mankind repeatly for more than 40 years. I think that the experts know what they are talking about.

So the evidence is clear but isn't strong???...
I haven't read the rest yet...

Hypothetical...

Aliens arrive and send a worldwide message... Everyone gets a free million dollar home, money for life, live to 120, never get slightest illness, can access the web by blinking slowly three times and closing your eyes... But you gotta get a alien microhip implanted in your brain so they can study the species... And... It's all in, or none in...

How long do you think it would take millenials, gen Z, and nerds to kill the people resisting alien charm???...

95% of NSW people of 18+ have had the vaxx... How much more compliance do you want or do you think will arrive at a positive outcome???... And what is that positive outcome???... No 'rona, some ' rona, no deaths (the average age of death for rona is 84 in Aus for done, 82 for everything else) mandates vaxxs for everything???...

Agree plenty are anti this particular vaxx but accepting of others, and believe they have reasonable grounds... But I dont think it's a brand thing in most instances... Though.. one brand in particular has done some awful awful things over the years... And Anna and Co had a great crack at deriding their main competitor...

Must also be acknowledged anti mandate is not anti vaxx despite the assertions of the psychopath in the NT and other States... At the same time saying not everyone who got the vaxx is pro vaxx...

I think we'd all just get along if the anti vaxxers admitted the vaxx may provide some protection and pro vaxxers admitted they have no idea what the long term impacts are, and left people to decide what is injected into their body or not, you know, like obese people so with cake...

I realise herd immunity is a different level for different diseases but  with those levels of vaccination it makes you wonder what the level is for COVID.

It begs plenty of questions...
About the virus, it's variants, their origin, traditional herd immunity, vaxx herd immunity, dare I say the efficacy of the vaxx, diagnostic procedures,  'Health' and supplier data, and Govt spending on training, facilities, equipment and media...

But it's 2021 - The Sequel... You're not allowed to ask questions about science or medicine, no decent human has ever acted selfishly or made a faux pas, and Pollies care about your grandma...

The virus is mutating, soon we will have covered the most likely mutations, and it will trend towards being similar to the flu.

Perhaps slightly more potent than the flu, but similar.

Natural selection will be a genetic competition between humans evolving to have better immunity and the virus mutating to try to beat it. That kind of contest has long been expected, we have bugs resistant to some antibiotics.

What humans have is workdwide knowledge and reseach, science and technology including RNA printers.

Human technological evolution is way faster than any biological evolution, we are on the technological evolution treadmill and our only option is to keep running.

For covid itself, it will not last forevet, but it has hilighted all sorts of issues and problems.

A big problem being divided sovieties, a lack of civil debate, trust and evidence based reasoning.

That wasn't a reply to my post, that was a statement...

Could admission and death rates be because - the dominant strain is less deadly as opposed to the vaxx working???... Could it be other methods of care have advanced???... could it be that most people that were going to die from this virus have already passed or are still passing just at increased rates post lockdown???...

Any answer other than 'maybe' is wrong...

Once upon a time people would acknowledge the above would be a 'devil's advocate' type of questions... Now its a question only a filthy anti vax granny murderer would ask...

I'm  sure the therapeutic side has progressed as much as the preventative side. What impact that is having on the figures I  have no idea.

It all comes back to when civilisation chooses to live with the virus.

Till this point, we keep talking about living with the virus, but its all talk.

Government wanted us to get vaxxed, and 95% of us did. Now, thats somehow insufficient, so they want to push boosters and child vaccines. Next they will target those filthy 0-5year olds who cry tears that are transmissable or have snotty noses or drool - once again, highly transmissible stuff.

After that, they start vaccinating the dead.

Heres an idea: LIVE with the fekking virus.

hd, you say that you trust the advice of the highly trained and knowledgable experts and the professionals. While that in essence seems sound advice you also have to look at it another way. In my business employees aren't allowed to indiscriminately talk to the media regarding company affairs. The experts and professionals are also employees and as such are only allowed to release the information that their employer wants the public to know. So in reality how much of the real truth is being leaked to the public. Pfizer and Moderna and the rest aren't going to release their secret formula just like Coca Cola or KFC keep theirs. We know that the Sars Cov2 virus (like it's predecessors) did not attack humans in its natural form and was genetically interfered with to do so and it "escaped" in Wuhan. A genetically engineered virus requires a genetically engineered vaccine and here we are. The thing is, we don't know yet whether the cure is just as fatal as the disease, and that is information that is never going to be released.

I dont prescribe to the theory that the vaccine was developed due to the genetically developed virus being leaked.
I simply think virology scientists at Wuhan were playing around with a genetically engineered virus and it accidentally (stupidly, irresponsibly) made its way out of the lab and into a medium source (bats or animals) which eventually got eaten and made its way into humans.

The development of the vaccine was just the global scientists putting the brains together to try to come up with a solution.
They did it in relatively quick time, but i agree that the potential long term consequences of these vaccines on humans is unknown. It wont be know for at least 3 or 4 generations (60-80years).

One thing that is for sure, is that the vaccine DOES help the human body from fighting the infection and so it has to be weighed up against any future concerns.
The runs are on the board.
